The cuts WILL ultimately cause great harm, but if we’re not honest then we’re the ones looking like fools. But Climate Crisis? Go for it, 100%.

What I was aiming for was the opportunistic blaming of the cuts to NOAA/NWS for the deaths. Yes, those cuts are stupid and harmful, even deadly, but I haven’t seen evidence that NWS didn’t do its job related to this event. It’s important for us to be honest.

I don’t like that many people with whom I’d normally agree are using the catastrophic floods in TX as wedge to count coup on our political enemies. There are lots of ways to spin this, and maybe the cuts at NOAA had some impact. But FFS, people, families are grieving and children are still missing.
