Hell yeah, no sleep tonight. I absolutely cannot believe @andyhermannfl.bsky.social skipped an Oasis concert for this, but I respect the hustle and (almost) understand it.
Only listened twice so far but I’m absolutely obsessed with the new Dillon Warnek album ‘As the Neighbors Tried to Sleep’ out yesterday. Already a top record of the year. Margo Price guests on a handful of tunes. RIYL Deer Tick, Titus Andronicus, Ryan Davis, Florry, Randy Newman.
I gave the album a couple of spins yesterday and I agree that it’s very good. Has not broken my RD&TRB obsession, but I will be dipping back into this one frequently.
The new Kathleen Edwards, Greg Freeman, Case Oats and Superchunk albums all sound fantastic, but I am experiencing honest to god Ryan Davis withdrawals and need to sneak in a quick fix.
I bought my tickets for that one a couple of weeks ago, but I was still crossing my fingers we’d get a MN date with this expansion. Very disappointed. I can’t get enough Ryan Davis.

Yeah, for sure. I admittedly want movies to have rich and rewarding lore. This just showed us some things that happened that didn’t make much sense or meaning. It stinks because the movie was cooking up something good for most of the runtime. Just didn’t stick the landing in a satisfactory way.
Possibly the most frustrating movie I’ve seen in years. Not because it’s bad, but because of how aggressively okay it was. A great concept squandered.

5th grade me thought this was the greatest album of all time. Being a vocal supporter of the band was not a boon for my social life, as piano rock was decidedly uncool with elementary school kids.
I never really found my footing with Silver Jews catalog, if I’m being honest, but this album had me from the opening line. An absolute classic.

I have so many high school memories tied to this album. One of those rare albums that truly takes me back to a time and a place, but also objectively kicks ass 25 years later.

I accidentally dropped $100 on vinyl from the Polyvinyl garage sale just now. Picked up albums from Superviolet, Plains, Mirah, Hurry, This Is Lorelei, 2nd Grade and Fust. Worked out to $15.50/ea, shipped. Not bad!

I am far too invested in this, but it highlights how excited I have been for this album. Really unfortunate to learn that the early album release was a technical issue and against the artist’s wishes.
As someone who purchased this on Bandcamp and still can’t access it there, I remain convinced that this is an error that has yet to be detected.

I was supposed to be in Milwaukee yesterday at the Summerfest gig. My extended family was there and they have assured me that I missed out. Very helpful. At least I didn’t miss out on “I’ve Got a Flair,” I’ve been telling myself through tears.

I don’t know how this obsession started, but it’s really bad over here. I only discovered him sometime maybe early last year and Cerulean dug its claws in hard. I am still half-scheming ways that I can make it to Chicago to see him play with Brian Dunne (equal obsession) on Sunday.

Realized as we were eating that the last game my friend and I likely went to together was a 1998 playoff game against the Supersonics. Getting old fast.
I went to the Timberwolves game tonight with my childhood friend and my 13yo. It was magical. A night my kid (and I) will never forget. Awooooooo!

I saw Nerf Herder/Bloodhound Gang at the Quest, but The Hippos would have been cooler. Never saw them live, to my recollection, at least.
