Yeah a little off topic, my brain can do that lol. I know quite a bit but I can always learn more so again thank you for your time and respect. If you have any readings you’d recommend I’d be grateful for a starting point! I appreciate your intelligence and knowledge in this matter.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
I’ll definitely use my older research where it’s needed but it won’t be the main thing by any means. Like I’ll use it as comparison to find flaws and such as I start a new study but I truly appreciate your time and intelligence. I just had to block another user for personal attacks so your a light
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Your aversion to accountability and lack of intelligence to debate instead of throwing embarrassing(for you) false personal attacks is not my problem so I’ll go back to the educated cats community not the abusers side you seemed determined to defend as an abuse apologist

You clearly don’t know what state google is in so i’ll tell you, google has openly admitted to providing users with false information and/or unrelated answers for the first few pages in order to pad for scrolling time.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Again that was an error on my end. The research is alright but the majority of HCW are egotistical arrogant fools who ignore research. I’ve been turned away by doctors for offering them new studies. The doctors are wrong not the research. My mistake.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Not as best as I wish I could but I would cross check it with vets (who at the time weren’t majority incompetent) and re do tests sometimes. Remember for the majority of this I was a child doing the best I could with what I had. None of this negates the fact that bells are entirely unnecessary thouh
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
But from a general standpoint yes I completely agree and I’ll have to do some reading on this comment of yours particularly as well.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
That’s also how we get a lot of flaws and straight up misinformation when you have things like racism and prejudice and arrogance at play. It’s why a lot of (not all) modern research is untrustworthy or maybe that’s just the fact doctors don’t listen to science or research that I’m thinking of
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
But that’s not saying much considering HCW is too three most toxic work environments filled with the worst people you’ll ever meet and I know my horribly abusive mother is now a HCW who actively commits malpractice her entire shift along with the entire hospital by ignoring current research so…
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh not at all. I took it into account and was the first to critique my own research for flaws as I strive to educate and help others and I can’t do that if what I’m telling others is flawed. It’s why I appreciate your input. As for the vets, animal medicine is probably the least toxic medical field
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
My comment was genuine. If you took it in a malicious condescendence way then that speaks more on you and I can’t help you with that. I could give theories, insecurity maybe? Or entitlement? But I don’t know you enough to tell you why you’d misinterpret my intentions in such an opposite way
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
In the process itself rather than my research as I’m already aware how horribly biased the animal medical field is and keeps getting worse. Thank you for being respectful and actually debating though I appreciate that
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Like you have to take into account it could be annoyance or discomfort or pain or all of the above and that was taken into account when I did my testing at least so I’m not sure what you’re trying to say. I’ll definitely do a little more research when I get the time but I fear I’ll find flaws
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Well yes different volumes are part of the tests to see if some frequencies and/or volumes cause different reactions so I don’t see your point there and interpreting reactions differently makes sense generally but like how would you interpret an ear twitch from a loud sound in a biased way?
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
I would never attack a poor defenseless cat over its owners abuse and/or ignornace as it’s not the cats fault they can’t speak to us in a way to say “ow this hurts me please stop” we have to listen like when they repeatedly take their collar off.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Prompted the response by myself albeit a slight bit unkempt with the sheer audacity of their ignorance and inability to think and take accountability or even offer a counterpoint before attacking. I simply can’t understand that level of entitlement to think you can do no wrong
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
No I can’t see anything on her account at all. But yes I didn’t wish for her cat any harm. I said WHEN her cat passes it will be better off as in the afterlife no one can mistreat it through ignorance or intention. Their response when I mentioned the bell was an immediate personal attack which
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Really? That seems significantly less effective. How would one evaluate the quality of a test that’s been done already? Your wording makes it sound like they read the paper and go “yeah sounds about right, let’s publish it”
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
I believe you meant “subconsciously” but that aside could you give me an example of a “shift” as I’m having trouble thinking of any pertaining to this topic to help myself understand
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Actually “gonzo” blocked me so if you could please link my comment I’d be happy to address it and take accountability if needed. I can’t see the comment otherwise

Simple tests like making different noises by their ears to test the reactions and checking the physical health of their ears as well to make sure that poor physical health isn’t the cause for any hearing damage. And also some more complex tests like basic command training on the more friendly strays
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Someone writes an (for lack of better words) answer and others read it and go and test it themselves or study it or whichever and then come back and say “yeah I ran some similar and differing tests and they all came back effectively the same results so this is good. To put it simply
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
But if attacked after an attempt at teaching I will defend myself because why would you hear “that’s bad for your cat” and go (oh so you’re calling me a piece of shit) instead of “let me check that as well and learn” which I’m not at fault for others inability to take accountability in that case
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
We could theoretically agree to disagree but even if you claim that bells aren’t abusive that would be a false absolute as I’ve already acknowledged not all bells are damaging but they ARE all unnecessary and most pet owners are ignorant and can’t tell what’s what. It’s why i teach and not attack
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
As for testing the hearing, some strays were friendly and I could fairly regularly examine them and others were more feral and I could only observe from a distance. The distance ones I used as generalizations for other questions and poi as I can’t get concrete answers from just my eyes
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Mostly peer reviewed before the internet was flooded with primarily misinformation and I would use them to cross check blog posts just for more information

My other cat I got after his passing was his younger sister. We knew the owners of the parents and were able to check the lineage (because my mom was desperate to take the blame off of herself) and it came back clear at least in terms of hearing issues

He died at about 8-9 at peak health as I cared for him the best I could (minus the bell)
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
And my own cat of course who started my journey. That’s just some examples because unfortunately I can’t pull every example of 11 years of study no matter how much I wish I could.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
A few friends cats (ones with bells took them off shortly after I explained it to them) and observing strays (specifically pertaining to hearing although taking into account other factors) and also general info like papers and documentaries which I cross-checked of course.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
MOST bells are harmful at least good bells not cheap poorly made muted ones. I don’t claim all bells are bad but even the “good” ones are entirely unnecessary if you’re raising your cat properly. Any metal tag with personal info will tink or jingle enough making bells obsolete from the beginning
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
I had him checked regularly for everything even as a kid I would make my mom get him checked out. The vet also said that because there was no other factors the only thing could be the bell but my mom is too arrogant to listen. I appreciate your sympathy for the loss of my cat.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
I trained him and he grew with me through my childhood. I did not make the decision out of bias, I made this decision after watching him lose himself over the years
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
It was playful attacks until he couldn’t hear us walking up to him and then they became more fearful often leaving cuts on our feet that he would apologize for later because he didn’t know. He was by no means stupid either following me obediently and obeying commands less though as his hearing left
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Cats instincts literally make them avoid predator birds but you can’t hear a bird coming for you if you’re deaf and he wasn’t a small passive cat either. He was a hulking boy who would always attack peoples feet when you walked by partially cause of the deafness as his attacks increased.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
There was no other factors inside or outside that could’ve caused his hearing loss. As time went on he slowly lost his hearing as my mother wouldn’t allow me to take the bell off. She allowed him to roam free outside against my educated facts and I had to watch as a bird took him away.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Ie. Providing logical reasoning for a claim. I’d also be happy to debate any said questions if you can be respectful about it.

11 years of research study and knowledge of domesticated cats gained through studying my own cats, researching cats and comparing information and using logic and critical thinking to find fallacies and disprove them. If you have any questions I’d be happy to answer with the reasons behind the answer
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s use was to serve as a base giving all examples of “what could be” for intelligent people to apply logic and critical thinking to decide for themselves what sounds more accurate. I simply applied the logic and critical thinking for them and gave them the answer. My other source is my cont.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
After a bell on the collar of my childhood cat (blame my abusive mother) deafened him which ultimately caused his death I have been an active advocate any chance I get. If you’re genuinely wanting to learn and better yourself I’d be happy to help you. If you’re being reactionary then we’re done
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s a poor source I’ll admit as I borrowed it from another reply but it’s enough to fuel logical application and critical thinking to understand the harm. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them with explanations as well. I’ve studied domesticated cats for at least 11 years.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
I will never stop advocating for animal rights especially because MOST pet owners abuse their animals or put them in harms way daily because they are simply ignorant. Walking a dog off leash that is not explicitly trained for example is neglect and putting your dog at risk of death.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Bells on collars are for ignorant people who don’t know how to care for cats. There is no such thing as an “outdoor” cat as they are an invasive species. IF a cat is ever let outdoors it is to be in an enclosed area and monitored constantly. Bells are pointless tools for abuse. They killed my cat.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Correct there are some ignorant contradictions. They are basing the decibels off human hearing levels and not cats. Even if you could be lucky enough to find a bell that isnt harmful it is still unnecessary. A tag on the collar will jingle enough to do all that a bell does without abusing the cat.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s simple logic application and critical thinking. I can’t help you if you lack the ability to apply that to real world scenarios. I’ll continue to fight in memory of my cat who died because of a bell collar no matter what illogical melted brain (from Covid) people justify abuse with.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
For humans yes. That doesn’t apply to cats. Stop thinking like an arrogant person and start thinking like an educated human who understands the differentials between species. I can’t fix your ignorance I can only give you the information to think about so you can fix yourself. Hope you learn
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Alright I don’t know how to convince you to stop being a follower and start thinking for yourself using critical thinking skills and logic application to real life scenarios and a pinch of common sense so unfortunately I can’t help you.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
I’ve studied and researched domesticated cats for 11 years at least since I myself was 11 years old. This is the BARE MINIMUM of knowledge needed to properly care for a cat. Please stop being an abuse apologist. A tag that jingles on the collar is all that’s needed for information and tracking.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
For cat ears which are significant more sensitive than people it absolutely can and does. Prolonged exposure to a nearly if not deafening ringing can and does cause damage. Also the bell is louder based on how aggressively it’s rung and cats run and climb. This is basic critical thinking and logic.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Use critical thinking and think for yourself unless you lack the knowledge to do so as so many others have proven. I’m done arguing with arrogant abuse apologists on an app that’s supposed to not be twitter. I’m going back to reading now. Reply when you can think for yourself and not insult research
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Do you know how information is designated as truth? By applying logic. I’ve said this multiple times already, due to a cats stronger hearing a bell is like me screaming in your ears every time you moved. It’s common knowledge coming from someone who’s studied cats for 11 years. This is bare minimum
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Addressing one animal abuser is addressing animal abuse. What you are doing is deflecting in order to defend an animal abuser. Common logical fallacy mainly used by abusers and people not able to accept responsibility. Please stop trying to minimize abuse.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
I care about stopping ALL abuse. If I handcuffed you but you knew how to take them off but I kept handcuffing you again that is repeated harm which is the definition of abuse. Bells on collars are abuse. If a cat takes a collar off and repeatedly has it put back on they will give up and suffer.

Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
But PLEASE educate yourself on the bare minimum of knowledge for owning a cat. Literally had to put an animal abuser on blast like 3 hours ago for abusing their cat and posting photos with the abuse device.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
I’ll give you time to think and process this but if you reply with anymore (atp) willful ignorance I’ll have no choice but to just assume you’re another animal abuser like the others in the replies I’ve already blocked.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
The article also claims pros as well making it unbiased and the pros are also facts although they do not justify the harm as domesticated cats are not meant to be outdoors unless in an enclosed area with constant monitoring. This is THE BARE MINIMUM of knowledge for caring for a cat.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s not that hard to understand. I don’t know why you continue to argue for abusing animals whose lives are in your hands but then again I’ve never understood abuse because only horrible people who enjoy being abusers understand wanting to be an abuser.
Prometheus (@qrow-feather.bsky.social) reply parent
Let’s apply a logical comparison to help you with what you’re having trouble understanding. Cats have stronger hearing. A bell on a cat collar is the same thing as me screaming in your ears every single time you moved even if it was just standing up. That will cause permanent damage and stress.
