In the case of paper title hallucinations, the best one can do is to use LLMs with the ability to search the web and use prompts that demand only real papers. But it's just a waste of energy, as there is a much better way to do it: keep your experienced personnel in the payroll.
LLMs are horrible for fields where the high likelihood of a word following another word is not what is important. In science, one can have a thousand papers supporting an idea, but all it takes is a single study to debase it. This notion is key for the work that the FDA does. LLMs suck at that.
