I don't even need bike lanes on Highland right away, I just need better pavement. extending the partial repave that the city did in front of City Hall would tide me over until we get a mayor who can actually get stuff done
the first step to improving Community Path safety, in my humble opinion, is to extend the partial repave of Highland out to Davis if I could make it from Davis to McGrath without the Path, I absolutely would, 100%. faster, fewer pedestrian conflicts, less of the School St crossing

anyway, as a bicyclist who frequently moves horizontally as well as vertically across town (you can call me the rook)... the Community Path Extension suuuucks for biking west of Walnut. too much traffic. I would *much* rather be on Highland, if it weren't actively trying to kill me and my bike
if you're going between Porter and Union, you've got it made (ignoring the door-zone bike lane, which is par I figure) but darn those of us in the northern part of town I guess
the more I think about it, the more confused I am that our best east-west route for travel - Somerville Ave - is scheduled for imminent work, while the other three major routes (Broadway, Highland, and Summer (the west end)) continue to be nearly impassable by bicycle due to pavement conditions
