I need to point out to everyone right now that "we are past the point of doing [x]" is a myth perpetuated by people in your congregation of whatever minority you are when they feel like the exact thing you should do will disrupt what little privilege they have left that you will never live to see
You are never past the point of doing something that's a myth perpetuated by people who are privileged enough that they feel like they will survive this and don't want you to risk that
I very much understand how this is a take people hate seeing but also like just know I'm not blaming anybody for making the choices they make like obviously it's the fault of the oppressors but I feel like people are forgetting almost every single rights movement broke every single law ever (good)
