I suspect Third Way is aware that most Democratic politicians already don't use these terms. But they want to 1. force people like AOC and Mamdani in very blue areas to sound like Manchin and Slotkin 2. Imply left-leaning academics and intellectuals aren't worth listening to.

If we are seriously facing dictatorship (and we are), this is more useful advice. Perhaps emphasizing bipartisanship is useful in swing areas. But so often this language is used by Dems in blue areas. It is hard to have a mobilized opposition when the official opposition constantly demobilizes.

I’m positive there’s an eloquent way to use this analogy for exposition in music composition as well, but the differences between potentially nonlinear narrative storytelling and linear musical structures makes it tricky…
C. Robert Cargill (@crobertcargill.bsky.social) reposted
There are three structures of exposition. 2+2=X 2+x=4 2+2=4 As the writer, you need to know 2+2=4. But audiences love to do the math. You can often give one piece of exposition, then show the choice that character makes, and the audience can deduce the missing information.
