No that was capitalism. It has been the most soul destroying, minimising and degrading act of government harm to 95% of the people inflicted with it. Not enough to live on. Precarious work, no housing, not enough jobs, no privacy, no control over identity. Robbed by corporations, defrauded by state.

I think we are starting to see the realities aren't we. Privatisation has one single purpose. To assure that the service is sold to citizens for a healthy profit. Nationalised services are able to forgo profit for the greater good of people. Thats why capitalists try to kill national services.
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social) reply parent
Fines. that do absolutely fucking nothing to curb the crime. If they did we would not still be talking about it would we. We have been fining corporations since and before the day I was born to zero effect. In fact it is an enabler. Prision for the executives will be the only deterrent that works.

Its why I advocate for full direct democracy. We vote on all policy not for parties. Parties perpetuate the dogma unable to undertake new ideas and new ways as yet untested. Citizens as a mass will just do what makes sense to the majority of them. Come the revolution William :-)

I feel we should be bold. A living wage UBI would be transformational for everyone. UBI at this level would adjust society. People would start to regain agency and the state would be rebalanced back to citizens being most important.

Our people can try and blame media for pulling the wool over our eyes. BUT we all need to be responsible for finding the truth. In the case of Palestine we did not need spoon feeding the truths to believe. It was clear, documented and advertised globally. A squint at Al Jazeera would give the clues.

In 2008 the problem came down to the single fact that banks created credit (loans → deposits) far beyond their safe leverage to fund a global subprime expansion, when it all went tits up all our state could do is make UK CITIZENS bail them out. Tell me again we are not shafted.

Totally does but our government are somewhat complicit. We write laws that encourage we teach accountancy practice that insists on it and we let accounts auditors and book keepers be liberal with the laws and the rules. We create exit strategies for the wealth through our city and hope no one sees.
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social)
Enormous under recovery of corporation tax. It is vast c£40bln per year Corporations avoid paying their way, contributing to the state they operate in as required by the law and we just sit here bitching at people on the dole or asking for a pay rise Corps wont change nor will our state force it
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social) reply parent
Due to the corporate capture of state in the UK and USA we failed to create appropriate rules regulations and policy for the delivery and usage of the internet Look where that has left us Insecure identities blurred boundaries of owners and a raft of other ills Now here we are not doing it with AI !

Richard I saw your rant at how we are diminished by the wealth groups it was honest and forthright. A wealth tax seems appealing and please do try. BUT the glaring corruption is the lack of collection of the circa £40bln in taxes that are just not recovered. Why do we not change laws to fix this?
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social) reply parent
I am in England. I want the UK to endure cause I just feel we are all British and know it. The problem is the predominant government and its propensity for donations and slightly closed moral eyes Its expectation that the UK citizen just can't wait to fully transform into capitals commodity citizen

Then revamped 'council tax' where we now fund a raft of additional costs to the council. Tell me again we are not shafted, not milked for anything we have, seen as the fallout zone for saving the state money so it can subsidise corporations. Cheated Britain where Citizens pick up everybody's tab.
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social) reply parent
Are you aware we also pay a part of collected council tax for road repairs. When was that snuck in. Do you remember when it was just rates and it paid for rubbish removal and water services, then the separated water rates so we paid more. Then the poll tax when we paid more got nothing for it...
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social) reply parent
Notice how we only get the rally cry 'we must leave the.....' we never get the material reasons why. What the benefits will be for each of US. Invariably the rally cry comes from someone being constrained by the pesky ECHR and their liberal newfangled human protections. Scumbags
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social) reply parent
It is corruption we just don't recognise it as such anymore so effective is their creeping consumption of our state worth. Media backed, state enabled, state encouraged. An efficient answer for the rich who were never going to be dependent on state care and support. Shitbags
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social) reply parent
In this case council tax. We paid all our lives to give us the peace of mind that it is covered. Only to have to pay again in council tax. Our country is awash with the very same sorts of grift, we paid for healthcare but not for healthcare and corporate profits. UK where you pay twice anyway.
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social) reply parent
Before our state/government own up. I am pretty sure no citizens in need signed up to becoming a profit making product. I think they all just wanted care. All expected the required care as they had seen for decades in the UK paid for by workers in their NI payments. Now we also pay for it in taxes..
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social) reply parent
They are all charities Syd. Don't think anyone is decrying this paid care as the idea of charity is that it is not profit making specifically Its specific mission is the attention to their subject. Not income for shareholders. We have got to get back to social care, given in the community by carers
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social)
😬
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social) reply parent
We should simply ban 'for profit' care of our citizens. Wherever it occurs, children, elderly, disabled, mental, illness. The idea we pay a company a 40% markup for care of our people has been normalised rather than insisting that the nation care for them properly and not make them a product.
Robin-DeBowler (@robin-debowler.bsky.social) reply parent
The Point People don’t need leaders. They need tools to decide together, to act together, to own the state they fund. A fair society is not managed from above — it walks itself to water. Citocracy is not a dream, it is the next step: citizens in control of their own future.
