Me too. I could've easily seen myself growing up, teaching future generations the dances, and the history. The first month of learning was basically conditioning the muscles in my body that I didn't know I had. Very sore, but I knew the results were gonna be spectacular! 😂

I began my lessons when I was 12. I had seen it only once in my life, and decided I had to learn it. We did Hawaiian, Tahitian, and Samoan dance. It was tremendous fun. I couldn't wait to get home from school and practice for hours. I was winning statewide competitions by the time I was 15.

When I was up there, performing my clarinet solo, I had to fight every urge to flee. But when I started doing Polynesian dance, the lights didn't bother me. I just loved dancing. Didn't care that people were watching me. Or rather, I cared, but enjoyed it so much it didn't bother me. 😂

The only real differences I saw, was the number of amputations in learning hospitals is remarkably higher. A boy with a tumor on his ulna at the teaching hospital lost his arm because that's all that medicaid would cover, whereas a similar tumor was treated differently at a private hospital.
