We do need political journalists - but the Gallery is the wrong place to expect to find them.
Unfortunately the Gallery arenāt journalists, theyāre Reporters 90% of the time and columnists the other 10%. They donāt have the time to do journalism- to give it the time would mean ignoring the churn and background noise of the parliamentary machines.

Of the officials who I saw speaking to the public during the pandemic, Ardern was far and away the most reliable on the science, and that includes those with public health expertise. I doubt Iāll see a PM able to contend with that level of detail again
Itās a form of magnificent obsession - similar to the way Trump Is obsessed with Obama. The delicious irony is that Ardern long ago moved on with her life, lives in a different country and has new responsibilities. I like to think that she is oblivious to these guys.

It felt to me like it finished with a perfect symmetry you donāt often find. If you look back at the first book after finishing the last, it makes you feel (whether true or not) that the authors knew where it would end before they began. A fitting ending.

Love the books (read them after watching the show not before other than for final three). Agree that they add extra layers and details that enrich the show. Feel that show is better in some places, books in others.
