I’m was an appellate public defender in Kentucky for 35 years. I’m an advocate for civil and human rights, a proud progressive, a loving dad, a doting pawpaw, and a much tolerated spouse. I post about Appalachia, Kentucky and politics.🦋

Appalachians are treated as outsiders in the north. Being treated like an outsider depends on where you live, the culture it instills and the perspective you’ve come to have about other folks in other places.

When they take due process away from one people, they can take it away from ALL people. If you believe this is something that can only happen down the line - you're wrong - it's happened before. It's happened here.

Thank you, former State Representative Chris Harris, for your endorsement! As a former coal miner and legislator who served Martin and Pike counties, Chris knows what it means to fight for working families. Honored to have his support as we work to bring that same dedication to Congress.

When kids are hungry, they can’t learn. When teachers are buying snacks instead of supplies, classrooms suffer. Cutting SNAP hurts Kentucky’s kids and their schools. We need to invest in families, not punish them. #KY06 www.courier-journal.com/story/news/l...
