VII Corps was eventually renamed the Canadian Corps.

In that summer of 1940 the BEF had left most it's weapons and equipment in Dunkirk, and Germany was preparing to invade England. The only standing army in the South of England was VII Corps, comprised mostly by the 1st Canadian Division. And led by Canadian General Andrew McNaughten.
