Across multiple platforms, I’ve noticed an increase in invites/follows from “AI Specialist” accounts, more so on linkedin. Why would I want to associate with you when all you want to do is use a plagiarism machine that’s stolen from me and my colleagues? Block.

sometimes following tutorials that aren’t specifically what you want to know are even more helpful. I’m trying to learn how to make clouds, but followed an underwater explosion tutorial, and the it’s given me a bunch of ideas on how to approach clouds

As for the most helpful, creative shrimp is a greater starter, but since I starting usingvdb from EMBERGEN, Samuel’s shader work helps a bit, and a lot of trial and error to get a descent shader in blender thats anywhere close to what EMBERGEN looks like

I still like to draw out my sets, but 3D is definitely a viable tool to communicate ideas in animation. Don’t let anyone discourage you from broadening your skill set.

For the longest time I felt deterred from using 3D in animation. One time I blocked out a set, really rough to move the camera around to see if it would accommodate the action needed. My PD ignored the screen and started drawing in the air… as if I could see what he was drawing.

Trying to get a stylized glowing trail without particles/sim. Promising start with just geo and shaders.

You could take a normal map or height map and paint strokes on top of them. The strokes sample the color/value from the original maps, crating a painterly version of the original. You can also customize the brushes. Not sure if that’s the type of thing you’re going for though.

I try to get a straight line in one or two strokes, but if it’s giving me trouble, I’ll use procreate’s line draw function. I remember having to do that for the wings in the head

One of my first assignments for #moana 2. The initial idea was that #Maui would use his tattoos to lasso the sun beams, but I think him using a rope is more readable. These were pretty quick, since we were initially on a lot shorter schedule. Definitely would’ve liked to have taken them further
