Also government grants to landlords with qualifying tenants for~£50k for solar, heat pumps etc. A friend's landlord qualified, mayhem for weeks, cowboy contractor signed it off themselves with outstanding snagging list, no government involvement apart from giving the money. ECO 4 scheme, I think.

I was at Tyneham last week, the ownership of land by the MoD certainly has many side effects. During the 60's, campaigners for restitution of the wartime siezed land found themselves opposed by local business interests.
