I was a waitress at VIP's Big Boy. Something like $1.10 plus tips. Fine if you worked tables, sucky if you worked the counter - lots of coffee drinkers and back work. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday we had to clean the A 1 Steak Sauce bottles and to this day I still can't stand that stuff.
Trust me. You're very happy when it's finally over.

Aw, she would have gotten along with my mom. In her final years she would only eat canned salmon...from the can. At that age you just let them enjoy whatever makes them happy.

Did a Sam's/UPS run yesterday in town. Picked up some steaks and chuck roasts and I felt like I was indulging in designer groceries. Cut them all in half and put them in zip bags. Enough to last until December. At those prices I wasn't sure whether to freeze them or lock them in the wall safe.

Clouds were like a heavy wool blanket early this a.m. but have burned off nicely. Only got about 0.10 " of rain but still I'm grateful. Finally cleaned all my old horse tack to donate to Walkin' n Circles thrift store. Been putting it off for 20 years. 🙄 Love my front bed in August.

I assume by "do it" you mean clean the bird cage. Nah, inside but with the shop vac at my side. Well, I do take the poop covered accessories outside to hose off. We got lots of rain in June & July so I can't complain too much. I think it spoiled us. I do enjoy the thunder & cooler air.
Piggy grill cuteness! Gave the bird cage a thorough scrubbing this morning. The birds and I both hate it but now we can all feel better about ourselves. Still waiting for rain that last longer than 2 minutes.

Sunflowers blooming in August start me anticipating autumn days. Can't wait for my favorite season. Herman decided my bedroom screen should be a kitty jungle gym yesterday. Got out the spray bottle and it worked like a charm. I left the bottle in the window as a reminder. His look says it all. 🤭

It's hardly worth it. A spatter of rain followed by dusty winds can ruin them in 5 minutes. I'm terrible at it too, but my bedroom one was out of control and I spend a lot of time enjoying that view. So I did wash that one and 2 others and we got...0.04 inches of rain. 🫤
What's interesting is we have bindweed in common with England. Totally different climates. One of my British skeeps posted a photo of some she saw at Cheltenham racecourse a couple days ago. Theirs is bright white or a bit pink and white.

We do! I love the deep pink ones. And they pretty much keep themselves to the edges of the road so I can appreciate them instead of fighting with them.

22 drops of rain yesterday. Gonna break down and wash a couple of windows to see if that encourages some moisture. Saw a young roadrunner in the yard running back and forth along our fence. He finally remembered he could fly and escaped. Lots of pretty blooms along my walk today.

Well once we got there that's what we did. One year, MN grandparents, next year OH grandparents. Every third year was to someplace interesting. It was the journey by car that was tedious.
Same here but there were only 2 of us. I kid you not, on one trip we entertained ourselves by wetting paper towels, then drying them in the open windows. We also counted oil wells driving through Oklahoma. "Ding! Ding! Oil well!". Our parents must have loved that.
