Club executives have been transparent about rebuilding methodically. It's very much giving 5 5-year plan since 2024, and that's fine except they are going into year 3 of that plan in 2026. Which is also a final contract year for multiple players (Staab, Kuikka) and season 3 of Swanson's 4 yr deal.
Chicago Stars FC named Martin Sjogren as head coach, but won't start till 2026, and there's a new interim in Anders Jacobson.
