Yeah, I had a heart attack and respiratory arrest as well as being in a coma for 14 days died twice. Plus the renal failure but the plus side is that I just got a kidney transplant this year!
Iāve had dialysis with a lot of elderly people. Some of them quite ill and the protocol is pretty much the same unless of course their hospitalised and then they just go back to their rooms. The first time I had one installed. I was in the hospital for septic shock so I just went back to ICU.

You have to be very healthy going into a transplant. He would never qualify not that the rules applied to him, but he would never survive a transplant. I got a new kidney earlier this year and even that was brutal on my body and Iām a lot younger and healthy.

I have two autoimmune diseases, both lupus and vasculitis Iāve never looked at all like that and neither have any of the people in my support group. He has more symptoms of kidney disease than liver disease. Iāve never been that unhealthy, nor have had any of the symptoms that you mentioned.
But the installation of a port only takes about an hour and youāre up and ready to go in about an hour later because itās done under twilight sedation, Had 2 done

Iām saying, I donāt know and that I may have a more slightly more educated guess than most people that are speculating because I was on it for years and have so many friends that are still on it and werenāt as lucky as I was to get a transplant as quickly I did; he sure looks like he has CKD to me!

Edit, although it doesnāt really make sense to stick him if he has an access for dialysis either a fistula or a neck catheter, I thought he had CKD for quite a while Iāve been looking for signs of access locations but I havenāt seen any. Former dialysis patient here.

I have been looking for signs of the fistula, or neck catheter but I havenāt seen anything except for the obvious IV sticks on his hands which would be totally unnecessary if he had any other access. Itās puzzling. Recently transplanted former dialysis patient.

After my transplant, I was on very high doses of prednisone it jacked me I was so hyper it was like having 10 double espresso Iāve gradually weaned down and itās part of my antirejection regime and it still jacks me up so I very much doubt heās on steroids. Pred makes you puffy because you eat more.
My dad died on the toilet of a massive heart attack. When the coroner came, he said itās not uncommon at all he said when all systems fail registers in the brain that you have to enter your bowels so a lot of people go and sit on the toilet, and there they die so it is possible.

When they said he had chronic venous insufficiency, I figured they were just toning it down and it was probably CHS, so Iāve been thinking along the lines of diuretics and heart meds, but those usually caused you to lose fluid, but I have no doubt that he is diabetic

Oh Iām sorry that was me! My friend just got his bypass the other day and heās doing great and he only had to wait three days for the surgery and it was found quite by accident while he was doing his work up for a transplant. Thank goodness for universal healthcare or Iād be in the poorhouseš
