For as bad as my health is, at least it has improved somewhat. 4 months ago, I was using a makeshift standing bed, because I couldn't get enough air otherwise. With medication, I've been able to start sleeping less propped up. Tonight I'm sleeping flat for the 1st time in 2 years!

I aspire to be a positive person. But I also try to be mindful about showing that the reality of that can be difficult. It's just as ok to have bad days. Personally, I prefer not to stay there too long. Being human means all the feelings. I think our ability to overcome hard things is beautiful.

I know I'm 40, but I started a sticker book. Sitting down every morning and putting in stickers from the stack I've saved over the years has been so very delightful. I have too many cool stickers to count. I want a museum of stickers. 5 years old or 99, stickers will always make me joyful.
The most difficult role in COCOON belonged to Brian Dennehy, who had to show being an alien experiencing death & grief for the first time, in an otherwise pretty silly movie. Can't sleep, & started getting too sad about those poor aliens in the pool. Some of those old ppl are the worst.

I lay in the hammock post midnight pretty much daily, and my favorite part is the grey, wispy, fog that streaks across the clear night sky. I want to believe it's the trail left behind by spirits of the people we love who are on their way back up to heaven before sunrise. They protect us sleeping.

I love when my kids' friends call me, and just hearing them say, "Hi mom, ...". The fact that they call me at all is wonderful. When I was younger, I didn't want kids. Now, being a mom (to everyone) is the thing I love most.
