Cannot be said enough how much the "just Trump being Trump" excuse is baked into ignoring shit that were it said by Joe Biden would have immediately triggered a blizzard of "Is It Time To Invoke The 25th Amendment" stories.
This is the biggest attack on free speech since the McCarthy era but it also has significantly less popular consensus behind it than the second Red Scare. It's being done on behalf of a minority faction led by the most unpopular president in modern history. Organizing against this can win.
Kimmel was cancelled because he showed a clip of Felon47 being unfeeling about Kirk's death. People are being fired for quoting Kirk accurately and in context. The administration has declared war on reality.
Every headline talking about Kimmel being suspended for his “Kirk comments” is journalistic malpractice. He was suspended for comments about MAGA opportunists exploiting Kirk’s death, after the FCC chair issued a Mafioso threat.
