that makes no sense, a mercator map itself isn't showing the actual size. Greenland isn't that big, so to compare a state to that is lunacy.
Currently sailing around the world and avoiding the shitshow that is Trump's regime.

We use roads in US Army; Russians used them because the ground was mud. They would have never got their trucks & tanks back. On the roads the Ukranians just make a zombie-like abandoned cars traffic jam on the roads and started shooting up the convoy, however they were able to get away eventually.

It’s just user error, I showed you how simply it works if you lead it. Presume they will figure out how to guide it without users having to do it, bit for now you have to be more educated on how to use AI. It’s like blaming a programming language because you don’t know how to use it.
Steve R. (@saridder.bsky.social) reply parent
It has two forms of thinking and you need to guide it on which form to use for a given scenario. The traditional blurt out answers (the sentence autocomplete functionality from GPT 3/4) is one model and the o3 reasoning is another model, both baked into GPT5. You need to lead it on which is to use.

Steve R. (@saridder.bsky.social) reply parent
Nonetheless, he was the pioneer who did it first, and enabled others to follow. Vikings might have made it to Newfoundland, the Basque may have even been fishing near there; but they didn’t create the pioneering journey that others followed. That’s what we celebrate.
Steve R. (@saridder.bsky.social) reply parent
You’re in the minority and that’s fine. The majority do celebrate it and are able to understand the complexity of historical figures, good and bad. You do you.
Steve R. (@saridder.bsky.social) reply parent
We know, what he did once here doesn’t take away his accomplishments. No matter what, he discovered the New World for Europeans, made it back! Then went 3 more times. Millions followed in his footsteps because of that journey, that’s what we celebrate.
Steve R. (@saridder.bsky.social) reply parent
It was found first by the native Americans, no one disputes that. No one also disputes he was cruel and brutal, implemented a horrific slave enterprise as soon as he got there. Nonetheless, he discovered the New World for the Europeans, and for that, many celebrate him.
Steve R. (@saridder.bsky.social) reply parent
Two completely different things. One was a bold, pioneering journey, lead by Columbus, the other was a government dictator overseeing road construction. I don’t know of any statues of government administrators who didn’t even invent the road being put up, Hitler or otherwise.
Steve R. (@saridder.bsky.social) reply parent
He discovered gor to the Europeans, where it was unknown. No one ever said he was there first, just that he discovered it and made it known to the Europeans. It changed the course of history and was quite impressive feat.

Me and the majority of the world. If you’re not impressed that’s fine, not like you made anything of your life. Maybe try and achieve something even a fraction as impressive as Columbus then complain. Or don’t and continue to be a nobody, doesn’t bother me.
Steve R. (@saridder.bsky.social) reply parent
Still took a chance and made the discovery, have to have impressive skills to make it on that journey, get back, then repeat it. Had a plan and made it happen; while he thought he was in Japan vs Bahamas, either way he did it and changed the world. It’s quite impressive to me.
