Wonderful opening night at the Gozo Film Festival. An iconic location and a brilliant programme of local and International shorts. We particularly enjoyed 'We Three Kings' & 'The Clairvoyant', and that's not just because we met the respective directors in the bar afterwards.

RIP Terrance Stamp, terrifying as General Zod, magnificent as Bernadette and perfect as the obessed Magnus Martel in Revelation, which was partly shot on Comino.
Santa Marija is over for another summer, but there's still plenty of Gozo Festa action left to enjoy. Today Xlendi is celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with traditional games, including Gostra, the greasy pole, but first a little rope traversing action.

I love watching movies set on Malta and Gozo, which is a good job really. I particularly adore the movement between places. Currently watching Made in Malta. The route so far: Ċirkewwa>Mġarr>Valletta>Dwerja>Valletta>Mdina>Kerċem>Valletta>Xagħra>Mdina>Nadur>Ramla>Pieta.

We've added 70 productions to www.SceneOnGozo.com and we keep finding more. This morning, we were researching Comino for an upcoming article and discovered Popeye shot scenes there, plus a couple more full-length movies, and a locally produced short.

Alas, I work during the day so I have to rely on other methods to keep track of new shows shot on Gozo. And you can't blame them for taking to incentive. Though I wonder if they realise how hot it is and how loud and long the bells are.
Partly filmed on Comino, with Santa Marija reprising its role as the forbidding Chateau d'if, this series was already on our 'must-watch' list. However, this bad review has bumped it to the top! Anyone else love watching TV shows that are so bad they're good?

Had a little trot out to Għarb last night. Dinner at Il-Kunvent was wonderful and tried out the football club too, which was equally lovely.
It is, but initial reports aren't great. Numbers are limited to 4,000 per slot and enforcement seems to be inconsistent.
Blue Lagoon update: All visitors now need to pre-book a landing slot at https://f.mtr.cool/absfpybiqq before arriving. This new system limits numbers to protect the area & make the experience better. Pick your time, get your QR code, and enjoy Comino’s most famous cove responsibly!
