As detailed below, we have conferred with counsel for Defendants and have reached agreement on the provision pertaining to interpreters, and partial agreement on the provision pertaining to medication. The parties disagree regarding the provision relating to toothbrushes. The Provision of Toothbrushes Plaintiff objects to the government’s request to modify the TRO to remove the provision requiring distribution of toothbrushes based on an unsupported and vague assertion that physical toothbrushes pose a safety risk. Trump is panicking because the economic numbers are giving a recession vibe. From the Chief Economist at Moody's.

The economy is on the precipice of recession. That’s the clear takeaway from last week’s economic data dump. Consumer spending has flatlined, construction and manufacturing are contracting, and employment is set to fall. And with inflation on the rise, it is tough for the Fed to come to the rescue. Unemployment remains low, but that’s only because labor force growth has gone sideways. The foreign-born workforce is shrinking, and labor force participation is declining. Telling is the economy-wide hiring freeze, particularly for recent graduates, and the decline in hours worked. It’s no mystery why the economy is struggling; blame increasing U.S. tariffs and highly restrictive immigration policy. The tariffs are cutting increasingly deeply into the profits of American companies and the purchasing power of American households. Fewer immigrant workers means a smaller economy. Any notion that the economic data misrepresents the reality of how the economy is performing is way off base. There are revisions to the data, even big revisions, but they universally say the economy is doing worse. That’s because it is. BTW, the DOGE cuts are a key factor in the revisions—not because BLS has cut staff, although that can’t help, but because the government often reports payrolls to BLS late. It didn’t matter when government employment was stable, but now that it’s declining, the cuts are picked up in the revisions.

Immigration Clients May Be Lost Between State And ICE Custody Chelsea M. Nowel of Dubrule & Nowel also has sought to contact her client. Her client has not appeared in the immigration court system, so there is no way for Nowel to request a bond. The client, originally from Mexico, has lived in the United States for 18 years and has a U.S. citizen daughter. He has two arrests for Driving Under the Influence, 20 years apart, the most recent resulting in a hold for ICE.

The Supreme Court’s “shadow docket” has cast very different shadows depending on which party holds the White House. When lower courts blocked Trump admin policies, SCOTUS intervened on an emergency basis to lift those orders in 77% of cases. For the Biden administration, that number was 0%.

Infographic titled “One Court, Two Standards” compares how the Supreme Court used emergency powers to rule on lower-court injunctions against the Biden and Trump administrations. Two panels show: • Biden Administration: Lower courts blocked policies in 21 cases. All 21 cases are represented by red squares, indicating that 0% of injunctions/TROs were lifted by SCOTUS. • Trump Administration: Lower courts blocked policies in 86 cases. 66 green squares and 20 red squares show that 77% of injunctions/TROs were lifted by SCOTUS. Key takeaway box below reads: “Using its ‘shadow docket,’ the Supreme Court granted emergency relief to lift 77% of lower-court injunctions against the Trump administration. It lifted 0% of those against the Biden administration.” Sources and notes below include: CourtListener data through July 7, 2025; analysis by Adam Bonica.

By repeatedly, I mean almost automatically. Of the ~80 cases where federal judges (including many conservative ones) issued injunctions, SCOTUS has now intervened to lift them for 60 cases.

SCOTUS never intervened when federal judges issued nationwide injunctions while Biden was president. Not once. They’ve repeatedly stepped in for Trump. Today, they cleared the way for him to fire tens of thousands of federal workers, overruling lower courts that said he couldn’t without Congress.

BREAKING: Documents filed in court today assert that officials from El Salvador told the United Nations that it "facilitated the use of the Salvadoran prison infrastructure" by the U.S. but that "the jurisdiction and legal responsibility for these persons lie exclusively with the" U.S.

As set forth in the attached Report, the Government of El Salvador responded to the UN inquiry opened by the four families asking about the disappearance of their family members: 1 The attached exhibit has redacted personal identifying information for the four men discussed in the WGEID report. Petitioners can file an unredacted version of the exhibit under seal at the Court's request, with the exception of one of the cases for particular privacy reasons related to that individual. 1 Case 1:25-cv-00766-JEB Document 160 Filed 07/07/25 Page 2 of 4 The Salvadoran State emphatically states that its authorities have not arrested, detained, or transferred the persons referred to in the communications of the Working Group. The actions of the State of El Salvador have been limited to the implementation of a bilateral cooperation mechanism with another State, through which it has facilitated the use of the Salvadoran prison infrastructure for the custody of persons detained within the scope of the justice system and law enforcement of that other State. In this context, the jurisdiction and legal responsibility for these persons lie exclusively with the competent foreign authorities, by virtue of international agreements signed and in accordance with the principles of sovereignty and international cooperation in criminal matters. In this regard, the actions attributable to the Salvadoran State are limited to its sovereignty and territorial jurisdiction, and therefore it cannot be held responsible for the failure to observe the principle of non-refoulement with respect to the persons mentioned. Ex. 1 at 6, 9 (emphasis added).
