The NYT has been pro Nazi since...the Nazis. www.vox.com/2015/2/11/80... They've been on the wrong side of history on almost every single important issue. What's astonishing, is that people keep thinking they're some liberal source. They're the establishment, and the establishment is pro-Nazi.

The annual cost of keeping someone in prison in CA is over $100k. Imagine if we spent just 80% of that on getting homeless people care, housing, and treatment. But, no, put them in prison and make them suffer while the tax payers pay more for the privilege of making someone suffer.

ICE horror is a perfect analogy for US policing being *systemic racism*, not interpersonal racism. It also illustrates what some cops mean when they say that *You civilians are way more racist than us cops!*. The cops don't have the vocab to express the point. But they are right. Let me explain.

And now it's literally the largest retailer. Point is, profit is not the measure in the starting years. Never has been, never will. Which makes articles like this have very little credibility when they keep harping about profit. The capex for AI is now larger than all retail spending *combined*.

"out of their own pockets". This is my point: it's a privatization of what was once done by public utilities.

8/8/2025, 8:09:07 PM | 0 0 | View on Bluesky | view

Consumers shouldn't have to deal with decisions around power production or storage. That's *why* we have public utilities.

Profile picture Sean (@seanspeer.bsky.social) reply parent

Putting generators in everyone's home would also provide more flexibility. But we don't do that. Because we came up with public utilities long ago who are supposed to provide power to everyone at reasonable cost. This solution is, again, privatizing something that the utility should be doing.

Now that musk is saying he’s doing the DOGE stuff “because the globalists have plotted a Great Replacement in which they use government handouts to buy votes from illegal immigrants and urban blacks” maybe we don’t have to act like this is about deficits or cost cutting anymore

Elon Musk & @elonmusk Follow The REAL reason so many Democrats are upset about entitlements (social security, medical, etc) fraud investigations is that they are using your taxpayer money as handouts to attract and retain ILLEGAL immigrants. Their future voters. That's what it's all about. Truth. 10:48 AM • 2/17/25 • 7.7M Views

To be fair to Musk -- but really SpaceX: only in testing. Destructive testing is part of their process. SpaceX has the best safety record for actual launches of any space organization. See: arstechnica.com/science/2022...

This is one of my favorite poems of all time, written by the wonderful & greatly missed John M. Ford. I’ve been thinking about it a lot recently. So I thought I would share it.

Mind-boggling wreckage. Among the lifesaving programs now disrupted by Elon’s attack on @USAID: phase 1 trials for a possible HIV vaccine.

“…you must be aware that it is not a crime for anyone — whether WIRED journalists, X posters, or otherwise — to identify individuals openly conducting government work that is of the utmost public concern.”

February 4, 2025 Edward R. Martin, Jr. U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Patrick Henry Building 601 D Street NW Washington, D.C. 20530 Transmitted via email Re: Threats to prosecute critics of DOGE Dear Interim U.S. Attorney for D.C. Edward R. Martin, Jr.: We write to raise serious concerns about your recent public statements threatening to prosecute those who X has since suspended the account of the user who posted the names. As an experienced attorney holding such an important public position, you must be aware that it is not a crime for anyone — whether WIRED journalists, X posters, or otherwise — to identify individuals openly conducting government work that is of the utmost public concern. The Supreme Court has repeatedly held that the First Amendment protects the right to publish newsworthy information that the publisher lawfully obtains, including names far more sensitive than those of government personnel.' Musk himself has publicly touted DOGE's engineers while citing government employees with whom he disagrees on X.' If it is Musk's intention for the U.S. Attorney's Office to censor the press and public from identifying and discussing those conducting DOGE's work on his behalf, that would be incredibly hypocritical. It is also vital that the U.S. Attorney's Office maintain the highest ethical standards and avoid even the appearance of impropriety. Bondi also issued an order to disband the national security division’s corporate enforcement unit and placing limits on the kinds of crimes prosecutors can pursue related to foreign lobbying. Charges under the Foreign Agents Registration Act “shall be limited to instances of alleged conduct similar to more traditional espionage by foreign government actors,” according to the order. The department’s counterintelligence and export control section “shall focus on civil enforcement, regulatory initiatives and public guidance.”
