The annual cost of keeping someone in prison in CA is over $100k. Imagine if we spent just 80% of that on getting homeless people care, housing, and treatment. But, no, put them in prison and make them suffer while the tax payers pay more for the privilege of making someone suffer.

It saves money versus the previous and current alternatives. We used to rely on the Russians for orbital launches. We now have a domestic, cheaper alternative. When you buy apples from a new vendor that are cheaper than your old vendor you are saving money.
