Yeah, Discord servers get so weird... I've had a few where I knew the server owner and they just let me skip the verification stuff, but it's always off-putting and usually makes me skip joining. And yeah, they never say when they want your phone number upfront. Like, buy me dinner first?

(recommend extra firm tofu for this) light press, cube it up for spices: salt, pepper, and garlic powder can take you to a good place on their own, but i also fw paprika, chili powder, and cumin add some oil and a little vinegar if you got it, toss and mix til coated, 20-25 minutes at 400F 🙃🔥

I couldn't believe this is "Boomers, so I looked a few of these up. Evan Schuman has been writing about tech since the early 80s, longer than I have been alive. Eric Brown got his BS in 1995, so he's also at least old Gen X, and likely a boomer.

Spoken by a boomer, those always seemed like Boomer Jokes, same with “I’m sorry you got married: wives make husbands miserable.” But somewhere in the last few decades, I think people started taking it seriously: the assumption IS that politicians are corrupt criminal scum.
I see two there that are assuming “Sampling bias,” and it’s telling (and more than a little odd) that people would just assume the pool politicians is drawn from has those traits. That used to be a joke when I was growing up: “good enough for government work” and “Government waste”
