I think physics implies that the energy that was once moving the wind is now moving a turbine and won't be applied to whatever else it would have. I think it's a pretty negligible effect but that energy came from somewhere and had a destination before we captured it.

I'd like to imagine the physical arrangement of your atoms acts as a tuning fork for your consciousness. If you deatomize and reatomize everything exactly as it was there shouldn't be any reason why your consciousness wouldn't just 'continue' just like waking up from a nap eh?

We only assume that because we don't exactly have the technology to do star-trek levels of de-atomization nor do we have any evidence of what consciousness actually is. It's just as easy to assume that star-trek teleportation IRL would work like waking up from a nice nap.

Obviously brain activity isn't actually ceasing but to someone who is unconcious the end result is the same, the perception of concious thought is broken. If the requirement is that your 'brain and data' be intact then there should be no qualms with deatomizing and reatomizing yourself.
