Again, no shade on the authors who were there. I spoke with a few of them and think they're great. But please please please have some variety on your panels, conventions.

I wish the panel on the landscape of Canadian horror had been more diverse. It was four white guys around the same age. They were nice & had interesting things to say, but the absence of women and BIPOC--especially Indigenous authors--meant a lot of what makes Canadian horror unique, went unspoken

When I first got back to Canada from a trip to Africa, there was a dogsled at the oversized luggage section.
I remember being a little kid on the swings. We'd sing this song and try to swing so high we'd go upside down.
FedEx once delivered someone else's medication to me. Another time, they left a box full of promotional posters for Scotia Bank. Both times, no one came back to sort it out even though I called and they said they would. I ended up delivering the stuff to the right addresses, myself. They're awful.

A few years ago, I read an absolutely bonkers book review that accused an author of plagiarism. Their evidence was that the author kept referencing Orishas. The book reviewer thought the concept of an Orisha had been invented by a YA author. 🧵
