this cracks me up every single time
when I went to get my bike license there was a female biker there, about ... 40? Only woman there. And she saw I was nervous as fuck and she was quietly like "you got this". that was it, just that. but none of the men there could possibly understand how important it was. still chokes me up.
this rewrite is going really, really well (like waking in the night thinking about it) but it's fuelled by distilled anger and spite

You shouldn't be too poetic when you're writing a screenplay, but I do. And I really respond to it when I read it in other people. The only caveat is it mustn't get in the way of clarity. If the visual is clear and poetic, that's the ideal. But if you're not able to do that, just be clear instead.

the energy is a bit flat, tone-wise the flashback it started in was really great, but once it gets into modern day it started to feel soulless, and then maybe by big gripe in the opening sequence is that the bad guy is supernatural. I don't like that, bad guy should just be a regular guy imo.

I love how genuinely erotic the catalyst is in Eyes Wide Shut compared to everything that follows. The hell Alice unleashes by telling him about a glance she once got from a naval officer. How elevated that remains as his journey into this male fantasy masked sex cult gets more and more on-the-nose.
