My guess is that the delays would be at their end. Player stalling waiting for a better offer, Brighton waiting and seeing. There’s also the other players we tried for, Paixao for example and then when we don’t get it’s who else is there. So many moving parts with clubs, players, agents etc..
The entitled will ignore this. Not sure where half our fanbase came from but the level of expectation placed on manager and team is beyond ridiculous. Not saying we shouldn’t hold them to account but god it’s pathetic how some go on.

I’m one of the most positive people when it comes to our players, even when there’s been doubt I’ve always backed them. But I did have a feeling about Joseph last season. When he got dropped to the bench and you’d see him warming up at HT with the other lads, he looked like he couldn’t be arsed.
How many CM do you think we need in the squad? Do you think we’d go into a PL season with only 4? When likely we will be playing 3 in CM a lot of the time?
If we get Stach and Longstaff, it will give us 5 out and out midfielders. That’s the minimum any PL squad needs. Don’t see us selling any of Ampadu, Tanaka or Gruev.
As if we are going to take a PSR hit for Everton and Jack Harrison. Let him rot. Angus Kinnear can do one as well the absolute slimy scum ball. The whole Jack Harrison affair leaves a nasty taste. We were good to / for him. Everton fans think he’s tosh anyway.

He couldn’t be further away from an Orta type signing 🤣 He’s classed as homegrown and got bags of top 6 PL experience. I can’t recall a single Orta signing with that profile.
Yes! I will only ever support the team either at the games or on social media. If I want a moan, I can do that with my family and friends, then get back on the wagon and go again. It’s never going to help the team if ER isn’t right behind them and SM is toxic - but some just love the attention.
They were just every day blokes, no ego, no superiority complex, just working class blokes who happened to be brilliant at football.

It’s not nonsense at all, you need both. Realistically who did we have who could head a ball from a set piece… Pascal, that’s it. It’s also why we tried so many low crosses because we had very few aerial threats. I’m not dismissing the quality argument but you also need players who can head it 😂

No they didn’t. They weren’t 20th in the Championship and then the same bloke got them promoted in his first full season, 4th place in top league in Division 1 and then champions a year later. They were an established Prem team and yes it was a magnificent achievement but nothing compared to Wilko.
No mate, I grew up in the mid 80s watching mediocre players in front of 15,000 fans and he brought the good times back and is one of only 2 managers to ever win us the top division title. That was at Elland Road. Personally I think you are insulting the bloke and fans who grew up with his team.
4 years? 88-96. Promotion, 4th, title, cup final, 2 x 5th place finishes. He created the academy at Thorp Arch. He built a 10 year plan to the English game as a whole and he created the modern England set up and look at the players that have come through. Revie was from Middlesbrough? So what?

He wouldn’t have been a PL starter this next season either. Might have ended up running down his contract and leaving for nothing. Buying and selling is not an exact science.
Everybody demanded promotion but now we should have been playing the under 21s because there’s a player in there. I hope Cresswell goes on to have a great career (he’s a Leeds fan) but wasn’t going to start last season. Think some of our fans think there’s a starting 20 and not a starting 11.

But surely with transfer fees being amortised across the length of contract, any transfer fees wouldn’t just go against the bottom line for the current reporting period. Obviously would have a negligible impact on wages for this current financial year too. Am I missing something?

We have had players in early, just usually the last couple of players at the end of the window. Just not sure we will get much done on the 2nd day of the window. For example if we wanted Nick Pope, we might have to wait for them to make a signing and the club they are buying from to do the same…
I think the market dictates a lot of it. Other clubs hold on to players until they get their own targets in and becomes a bit static. Usually the ones available quickly are surplus to requirements (not a good sign) or over priced.
The “UK deal” isn’t even in place yet.
He’s already said it hasn’t he. The guy has so much resilience and self belief, he genuinely thinks he can play for England again. I thought he was done at Leeds but he just keeps bouncing back.

If he can stay fit, he can play a very specific type of role in the PL. His football intelligence is superb and can help us stretch defences with his intelligent movement, which is really hard in the PL. Not necessarily as a starter but maybe in certain games and if he gets confidence 🚀

It’s something special about this squad. The players are properly close and bonded. Another reason we have to be careful with recruitment… bring in the right characters to gel with the team spirit.

Finishing 2nd-8th without winning things but qualifying for Europe is not the same as winning a trophy and never should be. Ultimately, that’s what history is judged on. What you win. I guess my point being that Spurs winning the Europa might not have happened without the current system.

Not being funny but Spurs don’t win the Europa if that was the case. In fact Spurs wouldn’t have been in any European competition for years and years.
I remember Farke talking about bringing in the right characters being so important. Bringing in big time Charlie’s is not the way, we need players who can do the job but they must have the right character. A great team spirit means being more than the sum of your parts.

I will always maintain that without Radz, we are still a mid table Championship club. Whatever mistakes he made, he did give us Bielsa (although Radz messed it up in the end) and he brought in the 49ers. Obviously we need to judge 49ers over the long term but compared to the previous 20 years..

The lad has had the best years of his career at Leeds (although he seems too stupid to realise it) and he’s burned it all. When he looks back in years to come and he has no club he can say he has a connection with, even though he was part of Bielsaball, it’ll be sad for him I’m sure.
