It seems like journalists- particularly ones who cover politics- ought to be able to clearly answer a question about the status of our democracy. If you don’t know, get educated & fast. If you are afraid to say, make way for fearless journalists who are brave enough to speak truth to power.
Example of how Chicago is a kickass city: The Chicago cultural center is open & free to the public, & it doesn’t have any monuments to traitors who fought to keep slavery, but it does have a quote by Frederick Douglass, & The Grand Army Of The Republic Hall. Chicago reminds everyone of who won.

I’m really tired of this little game where the GOP does something and people immediately blame the clean up crew for not cleaning up well enough to their standards instead of dressing down the dude who upended the trash can.
This is great reporting on what's happening in one county in western Nebraska, one where I've spent a lot of time, as people watch ICE raids and deportations in other places and expect it will get to Chase County sooner or later. So much better than NYT-style stories on rural places and politics.

UPDATE: In its latest status report, DOJ says that three of the five migrant children discussed in his previous status report have now been returned to ORR custody. Drew Ensign says that he'll file another status report tomorrow when the two remaining children are in ORR custody.
MORE: Sparkle Sooknanan is still awake -- and she wants a fourth status report from DOJ. The judge orders the government to update her when all putative class members have been returned to ORR custody.
UPDATE: DOJ says that all but 4 of the unaccompanied migrant children have been returned to ORR custody. Transfer of the remaining four children is expected at approximately 11:00 p.m.

This is part of why they generally have to make statements on past Walter Reed visits. I would say you couldn't have a serious medical issue without statements and movement. Likely leaks too. 2020 is a decent example of what I think we'd see.
Even if they tried to somehow freeze out the pool, the motorcade or Marine One are not exactly inconspicuous when moving through DC. You'd also need *a lot* of people not leaking.
This is an interesting question. If the president ever needed serious hospitalization beyond what the facility at the WH can offer, they would have to be taken offsite. That requires a motorcade or chopper. Typically, the pool would note that.
I dont think Trump - or any of our political octogenarians - is particularly mentally or physically healthy. He seems to be getting out a lot less than last time. Somehow I think we can talk about that without going too far down the rabbit hole.
