One of the greatest Emcee's I have worked with and now an author. @adamchristing new book is a great read. "The Laughter Factor" really captures his humor and his leadership.

A top notch tasting menu @holboxlosangeles last night. Here is Chef Gilberto Cetina giving it large with some Santa Barbara sea urchin. They definitely do deserve their Michelin 1*.
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
Today is my late Baba’s birthday. This is the gentleman who taught me what little patience I have and was a very kind and considerate surgeon and parent. I really, really miss him.
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
I bought a Japanese cheesecake @uncletetsu_us in L.A's K-Town. How many of you have tried this light and airy beauty before?
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
I was busy yesterday, so I just made me & @sazyrock a couple of cheesy sammies. She wanted to add some brightness to it, so used some basil from our aero garden. It actually worked really well. Who knew?
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
Santa Monica, California. It was the first place my beautiful wife took me too sixteen years ago. For breakfast, if I recall. Do you have a place that holds a special part of your heart.
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
I was feeling a bit ropey yesterday so @sazyrock ordered a Chinese take out (take away, in U.K speak) to cheer me up. It worked. I am now feeling much better. Sometimes all you need is comfort food. Mmmmm.
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
Years ago (2003?) I booked Michael's in Santa Monica. There was mistake, a female star already booked the whole place. They were great about it and sent us to another place and asked them to send the check to them. I was there last week. What's a restaurant done to make you feel as if you mattered?
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
Another walk. Listening to a book. Happy Saturday everybody. I hope you have the most fantastic day.
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
This should not and will not be tolerated. Not to the football players, not to the trainers, not to backroom staff not to the supporters. In fact not to anyone at all EVER. #f**kracism

An extraordinary book from one of my favorite recent podcast folks. Dr. Jeffrey H. Cohen, is the Professor of the Department of Anthropology at The Ohio State University and we talked in Season 13 about people who eat insects. His new book is coming out in September. I may well have done a blurb. 🙂
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
This amazing sauce from the UK is something I put on EVERYTHING. Well more or less (Except dessert of course). It was invented in 1895 by Frederick Gibson. It is a mix of spices, tamarind, molasses and other things. What kind of stuff do you find so delicious you have to have it on everything.
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
I went to the freezer yesterday & found a steak that I had brought back from an L.A steakhouse (I know, I know, but these days I can't eat a whole rib eye). I decided to use it in a Chinese style take-away dish. Chinese beef with peppers & onions. How would you use leftover steak from your freezer?
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
A very fun radio show with my chum @forkreporter. Celebrating his birthday, he took a select crowd to the excellent @descansorestaurant which serves very delicious Michoacán food next to the La Brea Tar Pits.
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
I had to order in for yesterday's lunchtime. This is a rice, ground beef & mushrooms stuffed chicken, hummus and Baba Ganoush. From @jerusalem_chicken. Very, very nice it was too.
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
Another beautiful day. Slightly upended by the most odd dream. I was moving to a new house with @sazyrock. We had a ring on the door bell and a lady telling us we had seven newborn dogs in our shed. She brought them in and they did what puppies do. Anyone had any clue what this means? If it does 🙂
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social) reply parent
That looks good
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
Whenever I don't have time to prepare a proper lunch, I just do this. Here's a clue "it's eeliy good". Yep. These eels from a Japanese market just need to be heated up in the oven and then served with rice and furikake (Japanese rice seasoning). Lovely stuff. What do you create for your go-to lunch?
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
I just bought a bar of Dubai chocolate to see what all the hype was about. It's very tasty. But, I can't understand all the Tik-Tok palava about it. Has anyone ever tried it?

Today I was thinking "what would my final meal be?" Mine would be a fish & chip supper from a "chippy" with mushy peas & curry sauce. With all my family. While watching one of our favorite shows on Telly, while complaining about how much the others had on their plates. How about you?
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
Who would like to eat mentaiko. It's pollock roe which is removed from the fish and then marinated in chili pepper and salt and then left to ferment. I love the stuff. You?
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
A splendid meal @gokigen.torigen. We had about 20 skewers and some chicken karaage. The chicken skin was inevitably my favorite. And, I had it for dessert. But it was all very good. Can anyone tell me what my shirt is a combination of?
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social) reply parent

Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
After my good medical news. I decided to pop into @versaillescubanfood to celebrate. I had some grilled chicken, fries, white rice and black beans. I could not have been happier. It filled the belly, and it filled the soul.

With a huge apology to @chefjwaxman I used his salsa verde recipe today, but I had to alter it for some of the herbs and other ingredients I had at home. Salsa verde. Served with skinless chicken thighs, dried lemons and chicken juice rice. Good stuff.

Goodbye Ozzy. When I lived in Birmingham, England I went to see you with some real fans. This was back in the late 1980s. I saw you a few times after that. You really were one of the rock & roll stars.
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
A very good brunch @birdiegsla. I really liked the desserts. Including a rice pudding, which everyone dived in to, everything else was rather on point too. I have been to @birdiegsla for dinner, which is very busy and fun. But, this brunch was 👍🏼
Simon Majumdar (@simonmajumdar.bsky.social)
A very fun experience. I got to meet up with two school mates who I last saw in 1980. David was over here with students of his own. On a Summer expedition. Gail was living in Los Angeles and very, very close to me. Who knew. We went to @birdiegsla. For brunch. I'll post about that tomorrow.
