It’s autumnal, it’s getting darker in the evenings, that scratching sound up in your attic is back. Don’t worry, cheer up by treating yourself with a Woman in Black signed giclee print or two. Β£75 (free UK P&P). Visit nicktankard.co.uk & email me at nicktankardart@gmail.com to place your order.

A black and white illustration, rolled printing ink and cross hatched black fine line pen of a man on a bicycle. The man is wearing a flat cap, a jacket with shirt & tie, he has a satchel over his shoulder. The bicycle is an old fashioned delivery bike with a wicker basket on the front and a lamp. The man is standing still in a quiet country lane, a flat featureless landscape surrounding him. He looks back behind him at a dark foreboding sky, bright sunlight ahead of him creates strong shadows of his bike on the road. The man is full of anxiety but he is cycling towards the light, away from his troubles. The same illustration as previously described with details about it in a black band on top. I’m going to make a concerted effort to sell some of my original illustrations (and prints) for The Woman in Black this autumn. Autumn seems like the right time. Watch this space…

A black and white illustration in printing ink and black crosshatched pen of a tree on a cold winters day. The tree trunk and its bare branches in dark silhouette against a grey background, a shaft of weak sunshine beyond the tree. A figure stands beside the tree. Dark and foreboding. A black and white illustration of a large Victorian House situated on a small island in the middle of an estuary. Dark windows look out onto a misty and bleak scene, a figure of a man stands on a cart track or causeway leading up to the house. Bleak and atmospheric. A black and white illustration of a woman in black funeral dress standing at the head of a fresh grave. A slash of white sky makes silhouettes of the woman and the surrounding headstones, the rear of a church and its arched stained glass window on the right of the illustration. A glimmer of sunlight reflecting off an estuary in the distance. A Yew tree arches over the cemetery, a gloomy grey sky above. Atmospheric and spooky. A black and white illustration of a man and his small terrier dog making their way across a muddy farm field. A winter tree and its bare branches on the right of the image overhangs the fields and the man. Crows make their way home to roost across a grey sky. Gloomy and atmospheric.
