Ah thanks! That means a lot. I'm not happy with the balance at the moment but more changes to come over the next few weeks. (Truthfully the weighting of daily over map was born from trying to meter out play - don't think it quite works rn but a gentle "OK, maybe come back tomorrow" is a nice idea).

Intense times so decided to calm brain at 1.45AM on Monday with this week's Everyman (The Observer's easy-ish cryptic). Eyes immediately fell on 5D (as '80s film' felt like an easy in) and wtf wtf wtf
... Like you say it is economics in a v horrible market. We'll see what happens, we're developing with the best of intentions and watching every piece of feedback though.
Quick token-free PC port has been suggested this week (but again we're literally 3.5 people and at the moment mostly firefighting so). Possible in short term is an unlock that zeroes the token cost of e.g. zones 1-10. So then you'd be getting (most of) the content for a price you can control. But..
I think that's useful information too. FWIW that is how I play games too. IF a game gates like this I regard it as a challenge rather than an incentive, and play until I feel the challenge is rigged. It's never rigged here, but the balance is wrong.
Well yeah, that's the problem isn't it. But it was either make this version or have someone rip it off and make this version and feel naive. Regardless, I do think the balance is wrong at the moment, hence soft launch. If it works out I'll get to make "Mindset Pure" or whatever.
I think "grind dailies" strikes to the heart of this - actually thought dailies would be the most played part, didn't want it to feel like grinding, just assumed most players would play that and only that; actually six months ago that + the events were all that was there. But we will keep tweaking.
It isn't - no tuning. I think the balance on this is off too, because it's a bit too easy on two circles and very very very difficult on three, but we will change this at some point soon. Tiny team (only one coder really) but I don't want to leave anyone feeling shortchanged, I promise.
Hey, we're looking at this - the balance isn't right now. TBH the focus was always the daily puzzle and we were expecting most players to only be interested in that, so trying to work out the best way of making all players happy.

You're spot on about the pacing though. It was so clearly wrong at the time. Sprint across rooftops, woohoo, this feels great, ahhh fuck another broken stairwell, slow down everyone, gonna be here a while.
Stick with this past the first few levels. My first impression based on the overall structure was “oh I’ve played games like this.” But once it starts folding in more rules you’ll realize that this is actually a VERY GOOD, VERY SMART puzzle game.

Shuffle is in one of my prototypes. Sort of like it but not useful enough to clutter up the UI. MIGHT add it to reset if pieces are already in place but low down the priority list atm! Good suggestion though

Actually a bit scared by how good and polished @stecurran.bsky.social's new Mindset Go! puzzle game is. Then again, since it's bound to be cloned instantly, the only defence is to make it as accessible and shiny and free as possible! (also the web version works *great* on mobile!)
Agree about the tooltips. The multi pickup takes some getting used to but is invaluable ultimately, I can’t live without it now.
