I've spent like 20 minutes looking for this comic and not finding it, I think it is lost to time.
Wayback Machine confirms there were comics, just not the one I was thinking of. I remember a webcomic about a slacker guy being transported into a fantasy world, being mistaken for his more heroic roommate despite being a weak coward? It was called "You Are Not the Hero" or something.
I feel like Blambot used to host a webcomic back in the day? I can't find any evidence of this, though.

One day maybe I'll find the time to make my own stealth game. I REALLY want to make it, but I have so many projects already right now. But maybe at some point I'll have enough free time to at least make a vertical slice demo.
I feel like MGSV came so close to perfecting third-person stealth mechanics, and the only thing that kept it from reaching that potential was the focus on having multiple massive open world maps. A more focused experience like Camp Omega would have made for an even better game.
For me, the perfect stealth immersive sim still doesn't exist. Everything I've played, while a lot of stuff is really great, still leaves me wanting. But an entire game filled with levels like Camp Omega feels close to what I'd want.
Every once and a while I replay MGSV: Ground Zeroes. There's something so different about it. It's such a cool, well-designed, stealth-focused experience. Even MGSV doesn't scratch the same itch GZ does.
It's pretty sobering to logically break it down and realize that we're not and never were overreacting. He and others like him just don't give a shit about us.
So it really is just a matter of him either not caring about the people who would die, or thinking their deaths would be valuable for the party in coming elections. Both are incredibly damning options.
Other people have said stuff about the unanimous consent thing: but I really want to ask what the motivation for that choice really was. But it can really only be the two options I listed, right? He knew RFK Jr. was bad news. He let this happen.
I would assume you knew as well. So why did you allow unanimous consent for his nomination, speeding up the process? Did you decide it would be more politically useful if Trump's administration is as destructive as possible, or did you simply not care?

Correct response to state violence
Even amidst all this, I just want to make stuff that lets people have fun. I don't think that's less important or artistically valuable than more dour, "serious" art. Sometimes, fun stuff will also make a statement and provide catharsis, and that's also good. But just having fun is also enough.
Sorry, I'm angry. I'm angry every day about this stuff. And I'm fucking sick of people supposedly on our side claiming it's divisive and unreasonable to care about other people. If you don't care about other people, regardless of what you gain from it, you are not my ally.
Any society that relies on exclusion and/or subjugation of an "other" will crumble. History shows this. And in the end, it's only right that it should. If we can't be better, we will be forced to start over. You can't meet this moment by deciding there are groups who are acceptable losses.
You CANNOT have a fucking heirarchy of what kind of person matters more than another. You simply cannot allow that on a personal or systemic level. As a society it's self-destructive, and it's just fundamentally evil as a viewpoint in general.
If some of us don't have rights, none of us do. It's best everybody starts internalizing this. There can be no acceptable losses when it comes to human rights. It's an all-or-nothing deal. It's both practical and the morally correct option.
Worth restating: If you're someone claiming Newsom is a good Dem candidate for president, you're telling everyone you think homeless people or trans people are worth less than the rest of us. Which is just being a Republican.
As a 12 year old I thought it was the coolest thing on the planet.
To this day I'll defend Twin Snakes, but almost exclusively because I love the insane bullshit they added to the cutscenes. It would be nice if it were also as vibrant and moody as the original, but at least it has a man jumping off of a missile so that he can shoot an RPG at a Hind D.

I don't really care about it capturing any essence of Alien, I just care if the show and worldbuilding is interesting and it's certainly achieved that.
I feel like Alien: Earth is by far the most interesting take on Alien I've seen thus far. We'll see if they stick the landing, but so far so good.

I agree. He's had great gimmicks and puzzles, but the actual boss fight is never good. MGSV, despite its gameplay polish in nearly every other aspect, is the worst offender by far for me.

I think when people discuss "memorable" scores in films, while writing absolutely helps to create something distinct, there's not enough emphasis on simple repetition. Finding many impactful ways to work the theme into the storytelling is kinda more valuable than anything in terms of memorability.

No disrespect to all the artists who seem to have taken great care to adapting the game to modern aesthetics. This is a top-level problem. People like the Resident Evil Remakes in large part because they're entirely new interpretations. If I want to play MGS3 I can just go play the original.
Tbh I was really ready to just be wrong about MGS Delta, but it sounds like it's just MGS3 with a new coat of paint. There at least would have been a point if it was a game that took the systemic features of MGS3 further using modern simulation capabilities.

But yeah my sympathies, issues like these are why I was eventually driven to switch despite many years of being a loyal Adobe apologist.
I made the switch to Resolve a couple years ago after 20 years in Adobe, and it's a rough transition at first but god is it so much better. I've also been using their service for collaborative projects, which has had some hiccups but has really improved my ability to delegate editing work.
