A bow on 1st-hit drama in PIT: Sheehan/Devanney worked out together in the offseason. So, they know each other & did talk. Sheehan just liked the feel of the ballāclassic pitcher move. Devanney took no offense; thought it was funny. Emmet also got Kershaw to sign a ball for Cam. In the end, all good

One player or lineup critique isnāt THE issue, though. Too often this summer has LA basically no-showed games/series. Injuries to Max/Tommy/KikĆ©/HSK obviously matter. But thereās plenty still on the roster to get jobs done. Which is partly why everyone is so frustrated with the inconsistency.

In August, heās 2-24 (.083) with 8K vs non-fastballs. He was hitting .325 (.532 SLG) with 6HR & 30K through July vs non-FB. Perhaps heās in-between? Not sure. But theyāve worked all year to keep him fresh for the stretch run. Itās here. Perhaps unfair since heās been so steady, but this is it.

3K for Kershaw: views from the SNLA booth alongside Orel Hershiser as Clayton Kershaw joined the 3,000 strikeout club. Only the third pitcher ever to do it all for one team, and he did it at HOME. A capstone to a Hall of Fame career (which aināt over yet!)
