Turning Point USA made a literal watch list of professors, primarily women, queer folks and people of color, and made us targets of political violence. I’ve received hate mail and harassment and death threats off and on for nearly a decade in part due to that man’s organization so 🤷🏽♀️

Charlie Kirks literal last acts alive was to blame trans people for a crime that is overwhelmingly committed by white cis men and then immediately followed it up with a racist comment about gang violence. No I don't have sympathy.

The best way to honor Charlie's memory is to continue his work: engage with each other, across ideology, through spirited discourse. In a democracy, ideas are tested through words and good-faith debate — never through violence.

And so? The other option is to not fight. It’s not like the only people who are being killed are people who fought back. With the new MAHA and the end of USAID stuff we’re looking millions dead simply for the crime of getting sick.

Politicians and rich people only condemn violence as "political" when it kills someone rich and famous. When trans people are targeted for violence by the state or by right wing influencers, when immigrants are racially profiles and put in camps, when protestors are brutalized, that's just normal.
One of 65 Million (@sthelen.bsky.social) reply parent
Then this is just part of the reaction to the right wing’s mistakes and the natural outcome
One of 65 Million (@sthelen.bsky.social) reply parent
Why does this killer have agency, but whatever right wing crime comes next is the fault of the Charlie shooter? Why isn’t this shooting the fault of the last right wing shooter?
One of 65 Million (@sthelen.bsky.social) reply parent
Did you consider maybe that the attack on Pelosi’s husband and the killings of Minnesota senators provoked retaliatory violence and that was a mistake of the right wing to support those?
One of 65 Million (@sthelen.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah I’m sure the existence of Charlie Kirk was a lynchpin in liberal democracy. Get real. Your idea is that the right can kill whoever they want whenever they want that’s not causing a cycle of violence, but when a left winger commits violence it’s their fault when someone uses that as an excuse.
