100%. The reality is, there is so much music out there that it floods the landscape. But there are gems out there. Counterintuitively, I think AI will yield more unique music from humans, as more vocalists like Adrianne Lenker and Cameron Winter with unconventional voices try to stand out.
It can often seem music has become stagnant. That all the new artists are just regurgitating the styles and ideas of older artists. As I listened to the their new album today, I thought to myself, not Big Thief. This shit is evolved and pushing music forward.

Omg I’m so pumped! The only comparable size place I’ve seen them was the Richmond Lincoln Theater in 2022. And while small, it’s not nearly as beautiful.
It’s not this small, but I’m really looking forward to the palace theater show in Louisville precisely because of its small size.
Funny thing. I live in Durham, NC, one of the most progressive towns in the country. My kids and I go camping at Kerr Lake, 45 minutes away in one of the reddest parts of the state, and often stop at CB to eat on the way home. Sunday at CB is more racially diverse than any place in Durham.
Any meal. Shrimp and grits is probably the most recognized dish, but I’ve served it with many dishes at my restaurants.

13 years ago, I had someone look at my 100 yr old willow oak who said it was dying and said it needed to come down. $10k was the quote. Got two more opinions, both said it was healthy and fine. It’s still going strong. Big trees shed limbs as a means to keep healthy. It’s totally normal.

Agreed. By devaluing the price of recorded music, it deflates the price point of live music, too (for smaller up and coming artists anyway). I’m shocked by how many people turn away from the door at our 100-cap music venue b/c of a $5 cover for a band that could be the next Nirvana.

Demand doesn’t explain it. Neither Folsom nor SPAC were/are sold out. And to attribute it to demand suggests there hasn’t been demand during the last decade. Something definitely changed on the back end when they changed the app.

As the owner of a small 100 cap venue that regularly books dozens of unknown metal bands (and other genres too!), I love this so much. Please keep it up! If music is to evolve, it needs people to go out and support it…all of it, the loud, the weird, the unknown.
