Pritzker: When did we become a country where it's okay for the president to insist on national television that a state should call him to beg for anything, especially something we don't want? Have we truly lost all sense of sanity in this nation that we treat this as normal?
In the coming days, we expect to see what's playing out in LA and DC happen in Chicago. These efforts are not about fighting crime or making communities safer. This is about Donald Trump testing his power and producing political drama to cover up his own corruption.
I discarded three-fourths of my childhood/college/law school memorabilia when I moved from N. Tangletown to Lynnhurst (8 short east-west blocks) in 2010, now facing the more monumental task of getting rid of the next one-fourth as I really downsize in retirement.
Not sure I’ll be in range of a tv until she has already won.

I thought Frey and O’Hara did well today. Their words were comforting and informative. The real political test for all our leaders now is going to be supporting the trans community to the fullest.

The main thing I like about the Minnesota Star Tribune is finding out more comprehensively about all the murders and other violence happening - daily - in Greater Minnesota. Gun violence is horrible, but Minneapolis is unfairly vilified by conservatives.

I saw Bill Clinton give a talk about the ACA to a very large audience in Minnesota when Obama was President. He explained the law so clearly and so much more effectively than the Obama administration ever did. The guy is a very gifted communicator who never talks down to his audience.

Interesting perspective on different ways to use the word. I live in Ward 13 so don’t have a dog in this fight but am enough of a traditionalist to be very turned off by her language. Even the “can go eff himself” variation would turn me off, although I agree less violent.
I think it’s a generational thing. I am constantly (AND I MEAN CONSTANTLY) asking my 25-year-old daughter to stop saying the f word, especially in public and even more especially in earshot of my neighbors.
Oh, and the Waikiki Room, although that’s just a beach I think.
