Raspberry Pi 5 outputting to an HDMI to RGB converter into a 25 year old Sony TV. It works! The desktop doesn't scale perfectly (& apparently the 5 doesn't have as much flexibility for CRT TVs) but I can live with it.

A bit of progress on The Mystic Moai's Hideaway sign today! I've decided to re-outline the letters in brown.
URGH! Drove the bus to the library and back to return a book (and to see how badly the engine leaks oil). And, yeah, there's a whole valve cover that needs addressing. So, naturally, my brain wants me to address it right now. I can't. I gotta work and it'll be 95F later. Grumble grumble grumble.

Made some progress on The Mystic Moai's Hideaway sign. Base coat is down. Will do highlights and lettering with Ocean Breeze and Citrus Green. For now the sign is baking outside in the almost 100 degree heat!

I have a new candidate for stupidest injury ever. I was washing our pasta pot last night and a couple pieces had stuck fast to the bottom. Without thinking, I went to pick them off with my fingernail forgetting I'd just trimmed em. Totally stabbed my nailbed really hard! Still hurts today. π
35 years ago today, Ziggy Marley & the Melody Makers and The B-52s played Shoreline Amphitheater in Palo Alto, CA. That was my first concert. In 2020, I found footage from the whole concert on YouTube. Yes, I screen recorded the whole thing. Sadly, not all the songs are on YT anymore.

For example, I had no idea the Section 8 housing at the end of our street was once military housing (different buildings, same site) for the naval airmen station at Livermore NAS (which would later become the site of the Lawrence Livermore Labs)!
One of the things I've really enjoyed about having a dog is not just getting out more for walks, but meeting neighbors, some of whom grew up here, still live here, & share the memories they have of this area.
