So this is interesting. I am trying to access senate.gov, as I do most every day, and I am receiving a security access error. I tried multiple selections, but multiple paths are blocked so it seems sitewide. Anyone else willing to try?

Besides the absolute rudeness and lack of control, two things stand out for me from the Kash Patel hearings this week: 1. He was rattling off statistics about arrests and drops in crime. Did anyone validate his claims?

I think in ten years ABC, CBS, NBC will all be gone, and so will all print and most online newspapers. What will replace them is unknown, but I am sure it will be controlled by just a few people who control most of the money.
LOCAL affiliates are meant to be LOCAL - owned and operated in the community for the community where they are based. Just like the consolidation of local newspapers into print conglomerates have removed focus on local news, a few groups of broadcast companies eliminate local input.
The FCC, led by Brendan Carr, is deciding whether to override the rule that a single entity can’t own the local affiliates for more than 39% of the country. The actions of Nextstar and Sinclair in forcing the Kimmel suspension show that the rule should be maintained.

A lot of activity, little progress - Sept 11, 12 63. After releasing a lot of misinformation, and an incredible amount of venom heaping on the Left, the father of the Kirk shooter, a 23 year old White male, turns his far Right ultra Conservative son in to the FBI.
We seem powerless against that too. I have no answers, but I think it is important to say their names Corey Zukatis 36 Demartrayvion ‘Trey’ Reed 21 May their memories be a blessing. And the same for those whose names we will never hear.
It is near impossible to wrench someone you love from the demons that lead to life on the streets or to convince someone they matter if they give up hope. Too many families know this from experience. Of course, it is possible death was not their choice. We know too well that hate lives among us.
Because these deaths were by hanging, they at least made it into the news, however fleetingly. We do not know the names of other college students who took their own lives in the past week, or the homeless who died in despair. But they are just as dead as Charlie Kirk. Their loved ones hurt.
Maybe the homeless man heard Brian Kilmeade’s suggestion that homeless be euthanized and he gave up hope. I won’t speculate why the college student added himself to the list of those with no hope for a better future - there are so many reasons to feel hopeless and helpless.
At this point, they appear to be suicide deaths, but it is hard to have faith that anything we are told is the truth, or that scarce Mississippi law enforcement resources are being spent on the death of a Black homeless man, or a Black college student.
Thoughts on Mississippi Buried in the deluge of news yesterday was stories about 2 men found hanging from trees in Mississippi. They are equally as dead as Charlie Kirk. They had families who loved them.

12. I watch a lot of hearings and I have never seen a witness be so blatantly disrespectful to members of Congress. His treatment of Cory Booker, Mazie Hirono, Adam Schiff was contemptible.
10. Patel didn’t make a mistake when he provided bad information about having the Utah shooter in custody, he was being transparent 11. Patel either doesn’t remember or won’t say what he told the Grand Jury about Trump declassifying documents that he stole. He said read the (unreleased) transcript.
8. Katie Britt is glad that Patel is making it more difficult for women to be FBI agents. 9. The FBI is planning to backfill their resource shortage by relying on local law enforcement. That’s the same local law enforcement that ICE is both relying on and recruiting from - with huge bonuses.
6. The FBI budget request is lower next year than this because it will take 14 years to replace all the agents who left so they can’t spend the same amount of money. 7. You don’t need to have a college degree to be an FBI agent, but you have to be able to do pull-ups.
3. Patel claims every field office in the country has more staff now than under Chris Wray’s leadership. Despite being down maybe 5000 staff. 4. Relocating the FBI office will save money? No one asked how, 5.Kash would like to fly commercial but the law says he has to fly private.
