I am not a lawyer or anything close to one, but the rest of the arguments seem to me to be somewhat standard defense assertions. This one felt completely unnecessary and, as you point out, very untrue.
"The NWSL’s lawyers claim “the doctrine of consent,” inferring that the sexual assault and harassment claims were based on consensual encounters." I don't like that language at all.
