Glad to hear ridership is up! And I was sad to see how dirty the train I boarded at SFO last night was. Don't you have staff cleaning trains at each end of a route? The Antioch train that left SFO ~12:27am last night was filthy, with trash on seats and the floor in multiple cars.
@bart.gov what will it take to end ALL ear-splitting screeching on all stretches of all lines in all trains, so that you stop damaging your customers' hearing every day? From Lake Merrit to 12th St, and again leaving 19th St. just now was painful as usual. You're causing hearing loss!!!
One of the worst things about Hayward, California is it's horribly designed intersections, especially how some lights are on 4-5 minute cycles. You have to leave 10 minutes early just to make sure you're not late in case you hit a couple of lights.

Today's headlines offer a perfect example of why developing any federal lands now is a terrible idea: "Trump officials say destroying endangered species' habitat isn't harm". Any "good things" to be done with federal land will have to wait until people of good faith are in charge of them.
And we know from the first 100 days of this admin that enormous damage can be justified under false pretenses of best case scenarios they never intend to meet. I have ZERO confidence in any public lands transfer or development over the next 3.5 years being anything but an oligarchic land grab.

Unless you're keeping hens, you do have to in the US. Commercial eggs in the US are required to be washed, to clean them of poop, etc. But that eliminates the natural coating which keeps bacteria out. Europe BANS egg-washing, to preserve that coating. So farmers have to keep their eggs clean.

"If done right" is the critical piece. Could only work with 100% transparency and responsiveness to legit critiques, to ensure it's public housing where most needed and most appropriate, minimizing/mitigating loss of public natural spaces, not just a land grab for the benefit of wealthy developers.

Rain really messes up your commute when you're biking. And what really sucks is I would've chosen other transit if this morning's rain had shown up on EITHER the forecast OR radar!!!

It was pretty clear from the get-go that an M7.0 wasn't going to produce a major tsunami, though warning agencies and local govt aired in the side of caution in alerting everyone of the possibility until they could verify that it didn't. Certainly raised some anxiety, hopefully some lessons learned

Curious to see whether more agencies (like SF BART), businesses (like airlines and car rental companies), and news agencies (like Berkeleyside), start maintaining a real presence here. I'm hopeful I can say farewell to Twitter forever, but sadly it's still the best way to connect with some of those.
