This mom said I jinxed them because they've had 2 incidents with a kid after I mentioned my concerns about him. No lady, my concerns are just being proved correct. That kid is a bad seed with zero supervision or parenting beyond academics and extracurriculars.

I've kept the TV's off since school started and my kids have talked with me more these last few days than they did all summer. It's notable how much more they've shared in that time. One even helped with dinner from our produce haul we were given when we volunteered recently.
13 and I had the best last day of summer spending the afternoon seeing a movie and getting lunch. While I worked in the morning he folded a load of damp laundry and failed to do his other chores. I am so ready for him to go back 🥾

All the parents are working, me included. But I have the flexibility to take 15 to the dr. then pick up all the boys and drop them at the water park. It causes so much anxiety to be away from my desk for that long but I do it because I can. And they wouldn't be able to go otherwise. #invisiblelabor
Back at it. Juggling all the kids plans before they head back to school. I have a lot of free time while they're off gallivanting with friends and at practice. It was a nice break but my work here is not done.

Deleted FB earlier this year and got few bday wishes today. But I did not spend it alone. My gf invited me over to enjoy her pool. It was perfectly relaxing. Just chit chatting and watching our dogs play. Living life authentically and with intention has been so freeing. I love it here.
Day off. Normally I’m sleeping in but decided breakfast with the boys is more important. 15 got an A in summer school and I wanted to celebrate this accomplishment.

These boys are rising 8th graders. And almost all of his classmates are babied by their parents. It boggles the mind how uncomfortable they are with giving a 13 year old some safe independence.
Last week was EOQ and we had a daily 5:30 am call. This week 15 started 6am practices. This interrupted sleep has me short tempered. I dropped 13 and his friend off at the waterpark and the mom was bombarding me with questions, even after I gave her the play by play from school to the park.
By all means set your boundaries, but all this kid's mother does is enable him. How is he supposed to outgrow it? Oh and if he hits you again, you have my permission to sock him back twice as hard.
Our behavior is a reflection of us. We can't control other people's behavior and trying to turn others against the offending party just makes you look like a jerk. So we don't do that in my family.
13 has a friend with a very low Emotional IQ. He can be mean and then cries that no one invites him anywhere. Most people have trouble empathizing with this kid. I do not and I require 13 to be kind and compassionate above all else.

Went to the UPS store to drop off a return. One of the machines is broken, the other was in use so I waited in line. The line moved quicker than the woman fiddling around trying figure out how to use the machine.
I always get stressed shipping big shoe boxes and then I had a light bulb moment- wrap them in a paper bag. Duh!! I recycle Amazon/old Navy shipping bags for anything small/medium. Large I have always struggled with. It only took 5 years!
