Brain droppings from an ST6 Psychiatrist in East London, working in a memory service and dementia inpatient unit. I mostly end up talking about the news.

What am I to make of LLMs as a Psychiatrist? On one hand, they might make some of my admin tasks a bit easier. On the other, they amplify delusions and have been linked to psychotic murder-suicide.

It turns out AI sycophancy is a major problem when the person’s ideas that ChatGPT is encouraging are suicide or in this case a murder-suicide. There will need to be major changes in safety protocols across the industry and I’m curious how Open Source LLMs will address this problem.

I would add that Disco is not exceptionally long by gaming standards. Elden Ring, Baldur’s Gate, Red Dead 2… yes, those are part-time jobs. (though you may find yourself making the time once you get sucked in!)

I was going to make the same comment. Of course, there is too much excellent art out there for any one lifetime, but IMV too many people have completely cut themselves off from a whole medium! Non-gamers can still carve out a space for exceptional games.

I don't think licensing is the right approach but I do think that sellers have a moral responsibility to do a bit of due diligence on their customers, especially with more complex pets. When we adopted our parrot, we had a home assessment and an interview with the rescue charity.

Can anyone explain why countries feel compelled to retaliate to these tariffs, other than "an eye for an eye"? I'm sure there is an economic rationale, but I can't quite grasp it. The risk of a vicious cycle seems high, especially with Trump.
