A common defence I hear against gun control is, “we need guns in order to protect ourselves against people with guns.” With all these mass shootings I have to wonder, where are all the people shooting the shooter? Shooters don’t seem to be intimidated by the prospect of other people having guns.

When I say Christianity needs to answer for its crimes I’m talking about Christianity as a political and cultural entity. The kind of Christianity that people follow and has impact on world history.
Germany is responsible for the holocaust. Does that mean that German culture is inherently anti-Semitic? Of course not. But history still happened and when such large scale tragedy happen responsibility needs to be taken.
A religion cannot exist without followers. I consider a group entity both its ideology and its people. If the people in the group behave badly, then it’s going to reflect badly on the group.
