making it miss the binary it's trying to read. I've fixed a friend's Super Smash Bros disc that way, but the disc was so damaged that it was already worth the risk. That would definitely be a last resort. (3/3)
it would be to lightly abrade the scratches with something like toothpaste to buff out the scratches. You see, CDs store data with tiny holes that the optical drive reads as binary. The drive reads it with a laser, and a scratch bends the beam of light, (2/3)
The best way to fix a disc is to have it refinished. I'm not sure if there are any places in Japan that do that, but in America, some used game stores offer that as a service. You can also buy a little machine to do it yourself. Don't know how much those cost. The other (bad) way of fixing (1/3)

If it froze during a door opening sequence, there's probably a scratch on the disc over where the data it's trying to load is stored. Is the disc dirty or damaged? That's usually fixable unless it's really, really bad.

Some things I learned after painting my nails for a while: The less strokes you can finish it in, the better they turn out. Don't try to go back and get spots you missed before they dry. Never paint your nails the same day you trim them. Multiple coats, always.
