I got off the College streetcar in Toronto one evening, and started walking along College. A guy walked the other way past me, and it took just a couple seconds for me to register that it was Scott Thompson (of Kids in the Hall). I turned around to look, and he was checking out my ass. XD
I've had a couple of authors tell me that the way I read certain passages was very different from how they pictured it, but they really enjoyed my interpretation of it.
I know authors who won't listen to audiobooks of their own work, because it doesn't sound the way they would read it. It doesn't sound that way when your readers read it to themselves either An audiobook narration is the closest you'll get to being inside a readers head. The differences are a gift

As someone getting in to voice acting recently (and late in life), this is the thing I'm noticing the most. Not only is it a very crowded market, but the entry-level little indie jobs that could be a foot in the door to get your voice out on the market are being done by "good enough" AI.
