Honestly, what are they doing. Theyâve lost the plot, and not only willingly ceded the narrative to Reform (on the one topic they are most virulent, vocal and united over), but are now doubling down on it because they are incapable of articulating any other argument, or even defending itself.
This will mean nothing to the thousands of asylum claimants who rightly deserve a place in the UK, but this will do fuck all for Labourâs polling and even make the misconceptions and disinformation surrounding asylum seekers and the Laboir govt itself even worse. Shambolically cruel.

is it only asylum seekers our Labour Prime Minister would object to living next to or would the sentiment apply to black and brown people in general? if merely the former, would he like to explain how he knows people he sees, say, in the street, actually are asylum seekers and not citizens?
It's beyond me why the PM doesn't want to put out this simple message. It's not hard. Hold a reception for prominent non-white British sportspeople, actors, etc to point out the kinds of well known and well liked people this kind of ugly nationalism is attacking. It's really not rocket science. 5/5
Banning refugees â people whose asylum claims have been processed by a hostile system and found to be legitimate â from bringing family members has one predictable and awful effect: instead of travelling alone, men will bring their wives and children on small boats, and some will drown.
Understanding full well that itâs a small but vocal minority of ignorant racists, the sight of each bridge of the M4 in emblazoned with flags (and Welsh/British flags in Wales), knowing full well the message is some form of white nationalism, was pretty fucking depressing.

Not to hyperbolise - risk of GPS jamming to bringing down an aircraft is extremely low, and would require multitude of other factors and/or failures; the risk of a rusty oil tanker, dragging its anchor 100s of KMs to cut undersea cables becoming a huge ecological/economic disaster is far more real.
Their entire doctrine, arguably the largest sabotage operation in Europe since the height of the Cold War, is aimed at disrupting, provoking and inconveniencing. Be it underwater cable cutting, arson, espionage, GPS jamming etc - the methods they are using risks spilling into something far graver.
Weâve seen numerous instances of this throughout Eastern Europe, notably in flights operating near Kaliningrad. Unclear whether UVdL was deliberately targeted here, but itâs yet another example of Russiaâs wreckless sabotage operations in Europe.

Bluesky is shrinking rather than growing. It has no source of revenue. If it doesnât grow, *it will die*. Constantly making it unwelcoming, saying who you donât want here, setting rules for what other sites people should and shouldnât use, and the like, will kill it quicker.

Even if they didnât engage with this, itâs not an sustainable strategy when vocal bad actors, the opposition and swathes of media is effectively using quasi-incitement with mis/disinformation to undermine govt and in some cases rule of law. You have to go on the attack at some point against that.
Unless itâs explicit threats of violence towards an individually named Minister, I genuinely think theyâd use this line again and again. No10 may think itâs choosing to not engage, but they need to explicitly say theyâre not engaging rather than labelling this talk as âpeopleâs frustrationsâ
