Beautiful day at Brushy Peak Nature Preserve
Hanging out at Morgan Territory and enjoying some solitude amongst the oaks, manzanitas, bays and toyon. The ground squirrels, scrub jays and woodpeckers were all around, as were the fence post lizards. It was a really good day.
What else is there for Donald Trump to do? He’s only president of the United States of America. It’s not as if he’s preparing your burger for you at a fast food restaurant.
America has really gone downhill. It’s a stunning fall in status, like going from a flowery mansion in Beverly Hills to a vacant storefront’s urine-soaked doorway on Skid Row. And to think, it’s just for the hell of it. This was today unnecessary.

The U.S. is being plundered so all that’s left is unrecognizable, just flotsam and jetsam of a once-mighty, once-wealthy nation all for the benefit of a handful of billionaires. China and Europe are now the world’s leaders. California must seek independence. The US is a millstone around our necks!

I can’t grow poison hemlock here. It’s too hot and dry, but I might have seen it along the San Joaquin delta, which has a riparian environment. I do grow datura wrightii, which may not be as toxic, but its flowers have an intoxication fragrance that attract moths.

See, that’s where the original poster went wrong. What you did is more in line with what I’ve done. I would just go sell everything. I basically shifted my investments around that allows me to minimize my tax exposure.
That’s probably a bad idea, considering the capital gains taxes. In the long run, it’s never wise to make investment decisions based on politics. It’s also true that Trump and the lickspittles who control both houses of Congress are an existential threat. I just wouldn’t be ready to sell everything.

No, actually this is a very arid area (13-14”/year). The area of roof that collects rainfall that goes into barrels has about 430 ft.² of surface area. 1 inch of rain is about 269 gallons. There is one other downspout, so it’s not quite that efficient, but you get the idea I think.

My set up is a circuit of four 55-gallon barrels joined together with 1” PVC piping at the bottom, so they fill in unison. I have another eight drums in reserve. Once they are all full, any overflow will go into a fountain I have in the backyard. Then there’s the dry creek bed landscape feature.
