The GOP includes 2 kinds of people: deep MAGA and scared MAGA. He's talking to the latter, conscious of the reality that a time will come when this civil war will be over and folks will have to live together again.

Jesus. He thinks he's Kristy Noem!

This is shocking, unacceptable. I say this as a former Edmonton resident, where 2 of my kids attended school. And where I worked for a time as a policy analyst in the Provincial government department where this execrable fascist thing is now being pushed. Shame.

Could only be better if the windmills diverted some of the air to play bagpipes. To deter bird strikes, of course.

No moreso than the UK. We each bled in Afghanistan, and Canada demurred on Iraq. (Thank God). Canada's a special case. The UK or France hasn't the geographic potential to become a 51st state.

Apparently the same stance on Palestine is not a problem for deals between the US and the UK though, or France as a member of the EU.

To my mind, the fact that much American "Christianity" has convinced its of and others that it's "Christian" to act entirely opposite to Jesus' teachings is a compelling argument for the existence of the devil.

Lots of us don't. Fwiw, history Church folks have been at the forefront of EVERY social justice movement of the past 300 years. From anti-slavery to trade unions to extending the franchise to homeless shelters to education to health care to environmentalism and LGBTQ rights. Love means love.
tomfe1.bsky.social (@tomfe1.bsky.social) reply parent
That's kinda what my church does. And many other churches (of multiple denominations) in my community do. Visit your local secular food bank or homeless shelter and you'll find it was started by a church, and virtually all front line volunteers are there because their faith says to love people.

By all means find a dentist to offer to install that cyanide-filled fake tooth for each of them. Would be a shame if there was some kind of flaw or weak spot, and it went off unintentionally.

It wasn't a "near assassination." It was a murder, planned to boost Trump's electoral chances. He wasn't touched, despite the performative bandage he put on his ear - as before/after photos of that "damaged" ear show not even minor changes or scarring. Trump had supporters injured and killed.

This is how siege warfare has always been waged. It was never humanitarian. One might ask why Gaza, with borders on Egypt and Israel, is effectively being besieged by both, with only the Israelis being blamed.

Remember how fentanyl trafficking allegations are why the tariffs started against Canada? This one MF imported more fentanyl than was seized at the Canadian border last year.

As a former Albertan, I feel like any positive outcomes for Canada from Smith's actions will have been accidental. If she could be Kristy Noem rather than a Canadian premier she would be in a heartbeat.

We narrowly lost this election because the media dishonestly destroyed Biden and spent the entire election dishonestly normalizing Trump. Don’t let that same media turn around and tell you we lost because there’s something wrong with the Democratic Party. There’s something wrong with the media.

I worked in health policy in a Canadian province. Through the pandemic, I supported our most senior politicians/officials re PPE, vacc development and distribution, epidemiology models, etc. On behalf of the dead, and countless health staff who risked so much, Musk can go fuck himself.
