After a long old day confirming Mum's left eye is beyond repair, we've headed to the Lakes toeey up with son, DiL and grandson 1 for a few days. Stopped for tea at Tebay. Now in our hutch at the Residence at Whitbarrow. Got a Lakes Brewery stash( chilling) in Tebay and currently sipping a Faith.

My two favourite bits of grub on last week's trip were a magnificent Spanish black pudding and padron effort in Girona. Whilst in France I succumbed to a rotisserie chicken and sauteed spud combo that seemed available everywhere. We ate some really decent grub and it seemed far more affordable.
I wonder if they do them in real touristy spots in Spainland. Not been to one for 5 years or so. The French have rotisserie chicken joints on every street corner. Not going to cut it for breakfast though.

It's not quite the same in France or Spain as they don't do the sausage patties! It's all donuts and whatnot in Girona and similar in Perpignan, although there was a beefburger with bacon and cheese option.

We had 3 days in Girona, cheapish flight from LBA, the bussed into Perpignan, about 90km, for a couple of nights, then bussed back direct to Girona Airport for late night flight back. Highly recommend Girona.

Load of Argy bargy at the rugby last night. I've no idea what started it off but is was very unpleasant to witness. Perhaps kick off could have been at 6pm and not 9pm. There were significant numbers of Wigan supporters much the worse for wear after 9+ hours on the bevvy.
Anyway... We have to vacate our Airbnb at 11. Bus back to Girona Airport at 5ish. Plane at 9ish 33°C whilst we, basically hang about. Next excursion will involve more forethought...

Fortunate to get the whole of the Wolves v Everton in a sports bar in Perpignan yesterday afternoon. Barring the two defensive lapses, what a performance. Energy, accuracy, skill. Couldn't quite believe what I was seeing.
